Bought a new drain cleaning bladder in May, used it 5 times and the side split. I sent Cobra Products an email saying the BrassCraft bladder only lasted forty days. Leslie answered my email and said they would send a replacement. Nice. Told her/him? I'd spread the word about their great customer service. Squeaky wheel works again. Most companies pay attention to their customers, I find, anyway. Sometimes I have trouble communicating with them, but certainly not in this case.
I stayed up all night last night because: 1) I can't sleep anyway. 2). Needed to get clothes washed and dried. I was waiting for a cooler day, but the heat outlasted me, so I stayed up to use the dryer when the air conditioner was off. Our old home's wiring would probably have taken the load, but I didn't want to take the chance. In between going up and down the stairs to tend to the clothes, I had a good time on FB, LJ and the Time Goes By website. There were all kinds of interesting links to follow: TED talks, John Oliver, Elder Storytelling, fascinating videos. Went to bed at 3:30AM (Ah, Retirement!), but woke up 2 hours later with an upset stomach. I still haven't figured out why. Back to bed after PeptoBismal and 7-Up and slept 5 hours. Then Cream of Rice cereal & I'm good as new.
In the black planter bag on the front porch, the squirrel has been digging in the bag with the pumpkin and 2 bush bean plants. Today I staked up the plants, added more soil and topped it with large cedar bark. I took out the dead pea plants from another bag, planted some Dill seed and covered that bag with bark also. Going to sprinkle hot sauce over the bark. I think it's time to dig the garlic, as there are only 3 or 4 green leaves left on the plants.
Got the payoff amount for the first mortgage on the house today in the mail. Will go to bed early tonight so I can take care of that tomorrow. They want certified funds, so I have to go to the bank. The second mortgage will then become the first mortgage, but I want to keep that account open so we can continue to get money to repair, remodel, etc.
I pray every day for the folks who have lost their homes to wild fires. Enough good things cannot be said about the heroic fire fighters. They perform above & beyond the call of duty. The fire in Bayview, Idaho has been on national news, and is about 60 or so miles from us.
I'm grateful I feel better. I have things to do!
I'm grateful for Harry, who takes such good care of me.
I'm grateful for our wonderful garden.
I'm grateful we are not threatened by wild fires
God Bless.
