So I had one of the best Saturdays on record today...
After not going to bed until 4:30am (thanks Jay and Dallas), the morning started with Eastern Market in the morning with Beth, Eric, and Doug. Dad's bday dinner at Beryl's, which was probably one of the best conversations that my dad's side of the family has had at a dinner gathering. I cooked dinner for Beth, Eric, and Beth's friends Rebecca and Andy, and it turned out amazing. My first successful attempt at lavender creme brulee was a total knockout. We ventured down the street to one of Beth's neighbor's house. She's pregnant, so we brought two of the creme brulee ramekins for her and her (rather attractive) gay friend. We drank wine, enjoyed creme brulee, laughed, talked, and otherwise had a great time. I ventured out to start heading home, and I may or may not have made out with aforementioned gay friend and gotten his number. I drove home, had the sunroof open, great music on the stereo, and when I got home, I looked up out of my sunroof at the reflection of my headlights on the maple leaves above me, and I realized in that moment that I'm the luckiest guy alive.
Happiness rediscovered :-)
