A/N: This is my first story. Umm... I really have nothing to say.
Lee was walking down the street in his winter attire, which honestly wasn’t much. He endured the cold Illinois weather, the slow, drifting snow, the blistering breeze. December wasn’t his favorite month of the year. He hated the winter, not that he liked summer that much either. He really wished that spring would come around and stay around. He could live in the early spring weather. Lee was trying to go see his parents, but he promised his limo driver the day off, so he had to ride the bus.
He wondered if he would drive him home. This is what Lee thought about when the bus pulled up to the stop. He normally had supper at their house on Sundays. He missed his mother’s cooking, like every boy does. His hair took a beating, being covered in the white flakes. He boarded the bus, trying to look casually not trying to attract any attention. He swore that a fan girl was nearby. They were everywhere, he noticed soon after he won Idol. He sat down by a girl, who looked small in stature. She had tattered brown hair with a blonde streak down the right side of her face. Her black thick framed glasses that made her look dorky, though it worked for her. She was incredibly thin, like she hadn’t had food in a couple weeks. She looked up from her lap and sees Lee staring at her. She had a questionable look on her face. She gasped when she saw who he was.
“You’re Lee--!” Lee quickly covered her mouth, not wanting to attract any attention that he can avoid. She began to get irritated and bit Lee’s hand. He pulled it away quickly and looked at her.”Do not cover my mouth.” She said simply.
“Sorry, I just don’t want to be noticed by people. I am trying to fit in.”
“Good luck Mr. Idol.” She asked, looking at him. “Could spare a few dollars; I am in desperate need of food.” Lee stared down at her; her eyes were big and chocolate brown. He gave in.
“Sorry I don’t have any money, but I can get you a meal.” The girl quickly smiled, stoked to have gotten free food. “So what’s your name?” Lee asked, looking at the poor girl. She seemed so fragile to him.
“My name is Siobhan. Siobhan Magnus. It’s Irish.” She answered proudly.
“Well Siobhan, this is our stop. Are you ready?” Lee stood up, Siobhan followed close behind him.
“Yes, lead the way, Mr. DeWyze.”
Lee turned to face her, “Please call me Lee.” Siobhan nodded and they stepped off the bus. He walked with her, telling her about his Idol journey. She seemed so interested, but told hardly anything about herself. She couldn’t help but be amazed by him. She told him that she’s been connected to music ever since she was a little girl, wanting to sing, to be famous. Lee looked at her and didn’t think she was the singing type. She looked so frail and didn’t think there was a voice inside that small girl. She walked right beside Lee, it was like dancing. She was hyper; dancing around a lot. They eventually reached the house that Lee grew up in. Lee walked right in, but Siobhan waited outside.
“What’s the matter?” Lee asked, staring at her with confusion.
“I won’t enter a house unless invited in. And plus, I’m sure your parents wouldn’t want me in their home looking they way I do…” Siobhan looked down at the ratty clothes she had on. Her jeans were faded, covered in holes. The jacket also had holes in it everywhere. She had dirt from head to foot, and the hat she had on was in horrible shape. Lee waved her in. She was a little nervous, looking around at everything. Lee’s mom came into the walk room in front of the door and took one look at Siobhan then looked at Lee.
“Lee, who is this?”
“Mom, this is Siobhan.” He gestured toward Siobhan who smiled and waved.
“Lee, what’s going on?” She looked at Lee in confusion.
“C’mon mom she’s hungry.”
“Excuse me, but I am not a dog. I promise not to touch anything.” Siobhan said, holding up her hands. Lee sighed and looked at Siobhan. She didn’t appear to be happy. She muttered something that sounded along the lines of ‘I feel humiliated.’
“I’m sorry honey. Umm, do you need anything?”
“Running water would be nice.” Siobhan smiled.
“Of course honey, down the hall, second door on the right.” Siobhan walked down the hall and into the room. Lee looks at his mom and smiled.
“Sorry about that, she just needed a break. I found her on the bus. She doesn’t look like she’s had much food in the last two weeks.”
“Leon… I’m proud of you… I think you did the right thing but… what if she gets attached to you?” She heard Siobhan laugh from that bathroom.
“Mom, she’s already attached to me. And she knows who I am. And she sings, she says. She’s really connected to music, trust me.”
“I understand but why her in particular?”
“I just felt something that just pulled me to her. She’s just so… strange. I don’t know what either.”
Lee’s mom just looked at him and walked back to her room that she shared with his father, her husband. She came back with a pair of jeans and a purple blouse. She knocked on the bathroom door and handed Siobhan the clothes when she opened it. Siobhan stared at them in astonishment.
“T-thank you very much. You don’t know how much this means to me.” Siobhan choked out, trying to hold back the tears. She hadn’t had new clothes since she was sixteen. Even though these were basically hand me downs, she still counted them as new. She changed into them and walked out, holding her old clothes.
“Here honey, I’ll wash these for you.” She took the clothes that Siobhan held and put them into the washer. She led her and Lee into the dining room and sat them down at the table.
“Mom, where’s Dad at?” Lee asked confused.
“He’s at one of his meetings, you know your dad.” Lee’s mother said, pulling out a seat for Siobhan to sit.
