It depends on the person. Some people don't want to meet online friends for their own reasons. Some like the idea of meeting people online then getting to actually meet them.

in my opinion, if you've been friends online for a long time and think you know the person better than your bestfriend, you're proabably wrong. You don't know how the person acts in public, looks, says, does...sure they can tell you in cyber space but how do you actually know?

Trust is hard to gain over the web.

Personally, I don't really care to meet any of my LJ friends in real life. That is part of the appeal to LJ for me, I can chat and exchange ideas without having to actually interact with people on a personal level, because that brings in a whole new game. As of right now, all my LJ friends are just random people I have met on LJ, and I have only met one in person, and I met that one right when I started my LJ, before I was really posting (or reading) a lot. (And we have only hung out a couple of times in the past year.) I can totally agree with that girl who wants to keep her real life separate from her online life. But hey, that's just my opinion. Lots of people do meet people online with the intention (or hope) of meeting them in person and becoming friends. It just depends on the person!

Oh, and by the way, going to someone's work and not telling them who you are is creepy, and some might consider it stalking. Don't do that anymore! Although it is her own damn fault for telling you where she works, but still....

I'm sorry that you probably think I am a lousy person. I don't "blow" people off. I thought you were a cool guy. I did enjoy shooting pool with you. I would have called you today but again... I have a temp and no voice... and I wouldn't even mind showing you my doct's notes because I called into work again. That sux cuz I need the pay. I just need to feel better soon ( ... )
