Robbery at Duggan's Irish Pub

Jan 25, 2005 11:38

Well, I guess when you stay up late, it pays off? I'm sitting here listing to my police scanner, when all of a sudden, I hear about a shooting at a bar about a city away from me. Duggan's Irish Pub (31501 Woodward Ave.) of Royal Oak had 3 perpatrators walk in and attemp to rob the place at about 1:30 AM. Unsure at this point why the perps opened fire, but they did, then ran out of the place. As of right now, 2 are in custody with the help of Madison Heights, Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Ferndale, Berkley and Troy Police. The third suspect is discribed as a black male, 6 foot, last seen with a dark jacket with a reflective stripe along the bottom.

Two people were shot inside Duggan's. A third victim was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital after suffering a panic attact.

Police currently have 3 search dogs and a chopper en route from the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. While retracing their steps with the dogs, they are finding money in different people's backyards. This being the case, I would assume that they've made away with money.

I must say, this is the most action I think I've ever listend to on my police scanner. Maybe I should make this a regular occurance on my blog, and then be like a media outlet? So many times, I've heard about how blogs are becoming more "realtime" than the traditional media.

UPDATE (from when I originally wrote this on my website, last night):  The story's hit the news and they don't have the same information that I do.  They're only saying that there were 2 perps, one of which was caught.  From what I understood, listening to my scanner, there was a total of 3 suspects, 2 of which were caught.  Also, the desciption noted above hasn't been made public by police.
