An interesting day

Today, I gave the last run through of my third year talk (it contained one factual error which I will fix right after posting this; the talk is tomorrow), I wrote a ridiculously flimsy synopsis of the work I have done so far on demonstrating that it is possible for a host-adaptive, transient insertion mutation based mechanism of transposable element copy number maintenance to maintain a stable polymorphism in cell genotype through frequency-dependent selection, and I had a small part in a sitcom pilot.

The sitcom is a spoof murder mystery set in a vegetarian restaurant, and I played Ginger Man. This is unfortunate, as I'm not actually ginger, but they added the line "he's not even ginger!" to cover what would otherwise be an embarassing omission. It was fun, and I'm going back tomorrow in the hope of actually filming something instead of justr reading through the same scene over and over.

If this is the start of a spectacular acting career, I'll let you know.
