Yes, I am going to freely admit that I do not understand most of what is going on with the National Government. I get the general gist of the shutdown and maneuvering, but for the most part... no... I'm relatively clueless. I do admit that this makes me an "uninformed citizen" and probably means I should be applying for transfer to another country, but part of me still cries out that the sheer audacity of the current structure is directed toward a cataclysmic collapse whether I understand the subtler nuances or not.
Translation: we elected these people to take care of stuff - why do they want to make it worse?
Okay, that's about as close as I ever get to a political rant.
I tutored Austin in Algebra II again today. He's getting ready for division of polynomial expressions through a longhand algorithm. I tried to give him enough of a look at it today that he will be better prepared to face it when it gets introduced officially in class in the next couple of days. I like doing the private-tutoring thing. I really miss the classroom, but this at least gives my brain a chance to exercise neural pathways that I'm becoming ever-increasingly certain are slowly atrophying. I'm not a huge fan of the way his text is laid out, but at least he's not using Saxon. I did go to the McGraw-Hill site to see if there were any extra materials I could order to parallel his current book. Hopefully the supplementary supplies will arrive within the next couple of weeks.
It's my day off tomorrow. Today was a bit of a mess. I ended up covering quite a bit more territory than I should have had the responsibility for. And I just now realized that I didn't get the new switching cable installed in the office computer before I left.
Oops.
