You know, an important part of planning a comic series is developing characters to determine whether they would act, dress, or anything else to spice up the story right?
Well for the purpose of this I'm hopping to one site to another, books, and one forum to another in quest to deepen my knowledge and my characterization about ASEAN countries. But hey, what do you know? The more I knew about them the more I get depressed.
Like seriously.*
Why all the disputes and hates guys?** T^T Weren't we to form ASEAN Community in year 2015? Can't we all be friends and get along well like Southeast Asia's band of brothers? A family?
Call me naive or anything you like. But I prefer to see world in positive perspective, and I'm more appalling to the concept of ASEAN as a union of big warm family rather than fist fit hate-fest in endless circle, of course we can never cease rivalry between us, but even there's at least one competition between siblings right? Why conjuring hate if we can spreading love instead?
I just-uh-I don't even.....
Well, apparently I'm at lost for words here, but anyway grats to
eyelushtraitor for the linking of that
good site, it's regaining my mood in a lot better stance and been a good source for fanfic/comic ideas in my head, thank you. I didn't know before that batik has made its way into Vogue and the parang motifs were worn by Jessica Alba!
I'll be posting ASEAN nations character profiles in near future at
hutan_bulan, if there's anything you'd like to fix about them, feel free to do so there. ^ ^

Notes :
* If you want to believe it or not, it's actually depressing me enough as to be able for making me lost my mood for drawing in general (at about a week). I'm just too loving this regional organization so much it's crazy, I admit.
** When I say hates and disputes, it's not limited to Indonesia-Malaysia only, but also including Malaysia-Singapore, Indonesia-Singapore, Philippines-Malaysia, Thailand-Cambodia, Vietnam-Cambodia, Laos-Cambodia, and so on, and so on........
I also kinda surprised that Indonesians are considered arrogant by other ASEAN countries! (Well, Brunei and Singapore got it too but that's entirely another topic) Granted, I got that stigma from a certain forum, but I can't help but wonder about that though, there must be something I've been missing in my data research.
