Movies! Movies! Movies!
So, I'm just getting back from watching : MERANTAU.
OMG you gotta see it guys! It's really cool I tell ya!! 8D
Well, indeed there are some parts that seems a bit draggy and slow pacy and the ending is kinda wait wut?
But I say, the cool action sequences are really worth your money!

PENCAK SILAT!!!
Ffffft I'm such a fan of this traditional martial arts of ours and
I'm totally fangirling over the pencak silat moves in this movie (and there are these
cool Caucasian dudes with taekwondo or thai-boxing moves that's also quite some feats).
And the best part is? They are not using stuntmen! Now, that's what I call real men!
Unf this movie's making me want to retake my karate lessons or learn pencak silat.

*wipes drool* Okay, enough of silat fangirling! Btw, speaking about movies, this Japanese made Indonesia's war of independence movie is certainly reek of propaganda (hence, was banned in Indonesia), but I actually want to see it. Just out of curiousity.

And also, there's the Indonesian made one for the same theme, MERAH PUTIH, which is out in cinemas on 13th August 2009. The execution is quite promising, well I'm glad there are a lot of good quality Indonesian movies released this year, much better than those pocong/kuntilanak/suster ngesot horror craps that are swarming around lately, this is definitely a good sign for better movie industry in Indonesia. ^ ^

Also, speaking of independence day, today is Singapore's anniversary, Happy birthday Singapore and salute from Indonesia to my Singaporean friends! ^ ^
And speaking of anniversary (Omaigad, what is it on me with this continuation "speaking of" today? XD), yesterday was ASEAN anniversary, woots! Good day to all my South-East Asian friends out there! And to celebrate it, I'm making oc nations of ASEAN countries, right here at hutan_bulan.
