It wouldn't be as hard for her to be Asian if she wasn't female as well, xD. She...well, she has a standing of quite a bit of authority...and in that circle, there are hardly any women, let alone Asian women, xD;;. From what I hear, it's hard for her...
Haha, there's only been one time when I've really felt that gap...uhm, a bit of a ranting story here...
My mum was driving the car and I was next to her, and at the time we accidentally crashed into the car in front of us. It was quite a good car. There was another similar car in front of it and the people inside were related. The man in the car just came out, walked over to my mum and demanded for her driver's licence. Meanwhile, his wife was in hysterics, yelling, "I want to see her licence, NOW!". They acted in a way which seemed like they completely did not expect her to have it. The way they were treating us felt like they thought we were criminals.
They had a number of people, and at the time it just seemed like they were going to gang up on us and beat us or something. After some negotiation, we finally traded numbers, names, insurance numbers, etc.
At the time the woman was crying and being comforted by her daughter (or daughter-in-law), and what she said was: "That bitch! Why don't you just go back to your own fucking country?" At that point I snapped and screamed at her.
I just...can't describe how angry I was at the time. Writing about it just brings it back. I'm sorry, I got sort of carried away and made this really long...

Mm, I suppose... And you have a really good point about heritage. It's one thing I'm a bit worried about; right now my brother is learning English, but he completely doesn't know how to read Chinese. It just feels...weird... And it's one of the reasons why I want to learn Chinese to a further extent, because then I can teach my children...

That's really true. I see. Your mum must get really stressed. I guess sometimes I feel it.
Oh my fucking lord. That's the kind of fucking bitch that would make you want to blow up and grab the nearest sharp impliment to use and stab her until she fucking screams I'm sorry. But then it would be too late already right? *laughs* Sorry is not enough anyways.
You'll be surprised at how many people have had that said to them. Their lack of disrespect is atrocious. Don't be sorry.
But sometimes, they are really unpredictable. I was playing in a band and for a start, I'm the only female bassist and to top that, I'm Asian. What more, I'm playing the with the best players in everything. The other guy kind of ignored until my teacher gave me this over the top praise and then he started talking to me like some religious follower.
Yes. I mean, if we were faced with that situation, at least we'd have another way out but if you don't, it's really bad. But if he doesn't learn English, that's no good either. Besides, isn't your brother still really really young? Yea. Same here. I really need to learn more. I want to read Chinese anyway. I like speaking Mandarin too so yea. A good reason I want to learn.
