Scrabble webcasts

I have been watching the Scrabcast stuff from the UK for a few months now.    This is accessible via their twitchTV website.  I would say that the feed quality is ok but not amazing. Another slight negative is that I find the website to be a bit unwieldy.  However, overall it is a good service (especially as it's free) and they appear to improve the setup at each tournament.  I also like that they keep score on the feed.   Another positive is that  the games are archived as you can go back and watch the games should you have missed them.   I have not used their associated chat window - which is quite hard to find on the desktop/laptop version of the site, though it did appear when I watched on my iphone.  It was actually really good to be able to watch the game via the iphone whilst on the move.

One thing that I find quite strange, is that they appear to have a 'copyright' - http://scrabcast.co.uk/3.html - I wonder if that means nobody else in the UK can use a webcam to broadcast scrabble games?  Strange if true.   Also they say that they use 7 cameras and 3 laptops as their setup - which seems excessive.

The other scrabble webcast that I've seen recently is the ongoing one being used by the guys at the Cal/NWPac tourney.  This is my favorite as the feed quality is very high and the meeting/conference software they are using seems to work really well.  Also, the associated chat function is really simple and usable.   I think there is a limit on the number of people that can watch this at one time (though presumably this can be increased) and presumably the games are not archived.

Wonder if anyone else has any scrabble viewing thoughts?   I like that these things are getting more common.  Hopefully they get even better and common, especially at big tournaments.
