From Poy
Marriage is a precious thing
Church bells ring, people sing
Yet, it's dominated by one thing
The woman-- wait till she wears the ring!
The bride wore a garter for a starter
To entice the groom who is her martyr
He'll take it off later & set her free
To take half of his money, a fool is he!
She says she loves my body
And my wittiness too..
I wonder when gravity starts,
Will I make up with my IQ?
Poy made this poem because we wanted something funny for the invitation. The, we changed our minds because the oldies might not understand the "fun" theme.. I even saw this wedding invitation which I liked a lot, "The weather outside is frightful, but our wedding will be delightful." It is apt for the winter season (hope it does not snow on our wedding day). Finally, we decided to do the traditional wedding invitation with our own words. It's this make-it-your-own invitation which requires ribboning so Poy found out I am not craftsy (I have tried & failed!) so he did the ribboning & I typed it. It all looked good except we did not put the RSVP date.. Double ding-a-lings, I tell you! We we will just call the RSVP-procrastinators-to-be a week before the big day.
