The road is long...

The date is set, January 20, 2006!!! I wanted to mark our civil wedding ceremony for January 21, 2006 to coincide with my grandparents' wedding but the court can only administer ceremonies on weekdays(that's government schedule for you honey!). Really, so how can I invite the buong barangay if it's a Friday?! I'm hoping the people I expect will show up & share with us this special day. (paging Pia escorted by our handsome Ray & K-so from the block). Yes, you guys have to fly & witness the 5 minute ceremony!!! I was kinda frustrated how a civil ceremony can be conducted in 5 minutes. Not that I want it to be as long as a high mass or as glitzy as Princess Di's.. I just thought a good 15-20 minutes would be more acceptable. Pano na lang ang mga late? Sus, being late pa naman is an indelible trademark of Filipinos. It felt good after doing that, it created more finality to our plans. I also felt that no matter how I good I felt about the whole thing, there will be both rainy days & sunny days ahead so the best approach is to stay calm & enjoy each moment. Cliche as it sounds, marriage can only be successful if both parties agree to work on it. However, working on it does not mean adjusting immensely & always making compromises. It defeats the whole purpose of accepting each other if this is the case. I am hoping both of us stay focused on learning more about each other & learning from each other & growing as individuals & partners & it will all be fine. I wish my grandmother can impart her wisdom while I undertake this big step. I terribly miss her presence.
Today marks our first purchase as a couple (thanks to our savings, woohoo!!! it is growing!) Hecht's had this big sale of the year (or so they claim!)& we thought we got a good price for an 8-pice pot & pan set.. I wanted to get 4 pieces of cookware or cooking ware (hehe, halatang di alam), Calphalon brand which is top of the line for $140.00, but we ended up getting the Analon brand for $219.00. Not bad, for an 8-piece set if ever I decide to feed a batallion. According to the item description, this brand is non-porous, non-stick & it is better than stainless steel & aluminum so it means it is a good conductor of heat. The best thing about this Analon brand is that it is mostly used in restaurants so that means, MATATAG AT MATIBAY parang Banco Filipino. Then we both an 8-piece table setting, made by Oneida for $69.99, less 10%. I don't know if this a good buy coz when we went to Bed Bath & Beyond, the merchandises were priced the same! Shit, false advertising... Since we got good brands naman, we will keep it & re-check this Thanksgiving if the prices are lower & exchange it.. (that's another Pinoy trait I am proud of, resourceful with a tinge of shrewdness). So, that's the highlight of the day.))) Yey for both of us!
