before we take a short hiatus from work! i know it hasn't been long since our US trip but it definitely feels like a distant memory now... i can't wait to have enough annual leave hours so i could go on another holiday! i would like to visit EU again- because my idea of a holiday is a food trip. i don't really care much about clothes and shoes shopping, i'm more interested in checking out restaurants and giving my own opinion about their food. i wish i were a really good writer (and have a super palate) so i could work as a food writer... save myself from cleaning up after my own mess if i were a chef. haha.
this year in review- pretty much alright. a few things to shout about:
1. passed my exam for the society and now a full member (woohoo!)
2. pay scale went up a level (double woohoo!)
3. went on the said US trip with Joel. we butted heads during the trip but it was alright. i couldn't ask for a better travel partner. he's the best... because he lets me get my way. HAHAHA.
an update on my weight loss efforts, well the scale has decided not to budge at all. i wasn't eating right for the most part of the year and (i think) i developed a binge eating disorder but thankfully i was able to get myself out of it. i was getting really obsessed with wanting the numbers on the scale to move down that i resorted to restricting what i ate and when it finally went down, i celebrated and binged on pretty much everything i saw in sight. a pretty damn good idea to screw up your weight loss efforts. long story short, i'm a lot better now in terms of my eating habits. not 100% perfect but a lot better than what it used to be.
i weigh about the same when i first left NZ in 2006 and it took me 1 year (without changing my eating habits and doing loads of cardio) to lose 5kg. now i have to realise that it'll probably take me the same amount of time (or maybe even more) to lose 5kg (of fat). i just have to drill it in my mind that losing weight takes patience and my hard work will pay off in time. i am a lot more muscular - can see the definition in my shoulders and arms but i've too much fat sitting on my thighs and belly - where i usually put it on. i don't really do a lot of cardio, which also probably explains the slow fat loss. oh well! i'll try to be more active over summer.
anyway, enough about me and hope YOU have a great holidays! :)
