This song won all three sections of the voting of Unser Lied für Lissabon convincingly which is understandable because it is a pretty good song for Eurovision. My main concern is if Michael can carry this song off (predominately) by himself at Eurovision. His vocals at the national selection were a little wonky in places but the presentation and the song will likely not leave a dry eye in the house.

One of the songwriters who contributed to this was Thomas Stengaard who is 1/1 at Eurovision after co-writing the 2013 Eurovision winner “Only Teardrops”. Arguably this song is better but the best songs often fail to win this song contest. No one will ever be able to explain 2016.

Other than being a nice song, this selection has little about it that is interesting. The singer was n contestant on The Voice and finished 3rd in 2011. He has had very few commercial releases since The Voice but he has lots of covers on his YouTube Channel, and that is the main thing, his huge YouTube presence.

From a song about the death of ones father to Only Love lets us Live from 1972. It is a bit of a stop to from a ballad to something that sounds like evangelical Christian music, but that’s Eurovision
