Well I guess it's about time for the latest news update.
As for December, nothing out of the ordinary crazy exciting. Made out rather well from the holiday generosity of some of my students. For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I was over at Vin and Connie's. Friends, family, good times indeed. Santa even came! =^D For New Year's I didn't really do much except clean. I cleaned our dining room, kitchen, and organized all of my books and magazines. New Year's Day, I did some cleaning of the practice room downstairs. Not so exciting per se, but it felt good to do so, and it was pretty necessary.
Here is the final product of a few hours working on my bookshelf and magazine collection:
Then we have the issue of the accident, outlined in my previous post. Things are still underway with it. In the meantime I'm driving a rental car, a freakin' Ford Taurus. But hey, it's not my money :) They are supposed to come tomorrow (well, today) to do an estimate on it. I'm rather certain that they're just going to total it.
The lovely grampa-mobile I'm driving:
I got some new guitar gear stuff for myself. First off, a new set of tubes for my Mesa. I got a set of JJ Tesla tubes from Eurotubes, and not only was their service beyond super spectacular and I learned more about my amp from them than I expected, the tubes sound PHENOMENAL as well. Definitely cannot complain about that. The Mesa sounds better than it ever has.
I also got a new foot controller. I got a Behringer FCB1010 which has 2 assignable expression pedals. This means I can finally use all my effects to their fullest potential and use effects that I haven't been, and would like to incorporate. Like wah-wah, whammy, volume, etc. Not to mention use it to create some new effects as well. It took me some tinkering over a few days to get it to work properly, but it's all good now, and I have to say that I REALLY like this pedal a lot.
Here is the current "State of the rig" pic:
I also ordered new wiring for my guitars as well, but it hasn't arrived yet. New switches, pots, jacks, wire, etc. My Universe is having switch, pot and jack issues, and justifiably so, as the guitar is pushing 8 years old, a lot of rough wear and tear, so it's about due I'd say.
Also, just to throw it out there, I MAY be going on the road with Mike and James. We're hoping it becomes a reality, but we won't know for sure for a few days or so. It's in the works, and I'd like to say that the odds are in our favor to do this, but no definites yet. I'll give more details as I get more word on what is happening.
As for the Sentra, I hit a snag on Saturday, like I figured I would. I ended up needing transmission/axle seals, and of course no one had them in stock. They arrived today, so I have to pick them up tomorrow. The new freshly milled flywheel and clutch are in though.
The tranny out of the Nissan FINALLY:
The freshly resurfaced flywheel:
The clutch (and alignment tool) in place:
That's the excitement right now. More to come I'm sure.
