Ozzfest '06
Well, I must say out of the five years in a row I have gone to Ozzfest, this one will definitely be in 2nd place. I have to still give my first year the most credit because it was a first experience for me and.. all my favorite bands played! ^^
Second stage I showed up a little late for and didn't get to see Strapping Young Lad. *sad face*, but I did get to see a band I had never heard of but WANTED to see, Bad Acid Trip. They were surprisingly good.. funny lyrics, nice heavy sound. <3 Yay.
Now, for the main stage line up. I watched the first three bands up on the lawn with a couple friends of mine, so I can't give very good judgements on them, but I'll give it a try. The final three bands I saw up front, very near the stage in the pit.. but they were the bands I wanted to see anyways...
Dragonforce: Eh.. reminded me of 80s hair metal.. which is pretty much what it is.. but they were alright. I'll give them 3 out of 5 stars.
Lacuna Coil: Seeing as I went there only knowing one or two of their songs, I liked them to start off with.. but, I grew in liking to them, I suppose since I saw them last night. ^^
Hatebreed: Eh... I like one of their songs and it'll stay that way.
Avenged Sevenfold: <3 Yay for playing Bat Country right before leaving the stage. <3 That was one of the key points of a happy concert night.
Disturbed: I don't have their new album so I only know two songs from it.. and they played lotsa stuff from their new album. The songs I knew, I loved, the ones I didn't, I pretended to love them anyways!
System of a Down: No contest. This is what I went to see, the main reason I went in the first place. They were awesome. Fucking incredible. I will see them again. I have no other way of putting it besides... god damn.
So, once again Ozzfest was a success.. I leave their with a gash down my arm (moshing) sunburnt.. and aching bones from all the jumping up and down and headbanging.
No regrets.
