We have a Husky-Elkhound-cross puppy. She is a little terror and enjoys destroying everything! Unfortunately you can't yell at/smack her like any other dog, because she doesn't understand. You can only ignore her until she does it right (like not messing on the carpet right next to the door!).
I impressed myself the other day when I came home to find my slippers and a pair of shoes eaten. My new slippers and favourite skull-design shoes. I didn't mind since the shoes were old and the slippers cheap.
Only this morning she ate mum's cross-stitch packet and our last Umbrella, and when we came home from Uni? ALL MY SHOES: EATEN! I honestly have no shoes left! I still have two days of Uni for this week and all I've got are my boots. You can't wear boots while walking from one end of the Auckland University to the next!
I. Hate. That. Dog.
We can't even discipline her because the cage is occupied by the cat (still recovering from a broken leg), it's wet and muddy outside, plus the chain isn't set up yet because of aformentioned weather conditions. Sending her outside is an invitation to go and make even more mess, get absolutely filthy and then trash the place upon being let back in.
AARRGH!
