Sometimes I Live in Bizarro World
The ex-fiancee, James, joined LinkedIn. Since we've managed to come to an good place after a lot of bad ones (thanks to FB), I added him as a contact. He accepted, and included a recommendation that made me LOL. It was about how much help I gave him when he was in school which, while not a total lie, isn't how I remember it. He asked me to write one for him, so I went the generic route. Dunno why I'm posting, just the funniest moment of the day.
OH! The huge news while I was gone...the idiot they hired to replace me was fired! Hooray for small miracles. I'm not 100% sure what happened, since it usually takes A LOT to get fired straight out from the place. They usually put you on a PIP (I think that means Performance Improvement Plan) before they can you, but she wasn't on one. Then again, it appears they're cleaning house firmwide right now. There's been a number of green memos that would lead me to believe that quite a few people have been let go.
