Meeting cont'd

Apr 25, 2008 08:32

(3:46:17 PM) Demont: Back
(3:46:31 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): what if we started with a few cities, then as the other ones build up, they can be added? trying to think... craughmoyle, cenril, and vailkrin shouldn't have an issue. larket... maybe. alithyra... maybe
(3:46:36 PM) vgfhvengence: Yeah, they walk out now rye don't they.
(3:47:01 PM) Ryeanna: what sorry?
(3:47:05 PM) vgfhvengence: That is the idea Vuryal, we essentially define the borders.
(3:47:17 PM) vgfhvengence: Thousands of little kidlers.
(3:47:18 PM) Demont: WHy the hell can't I see Vuryal's input.
(3:47:19 PM) Hans: I can get into the wiki as both my aults just not hans oddly...
(3:47:46 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): because i'm special?
(3:47:52 PM) Demont: Stupid AIM. There we go.
(3:47:56 PM) Demont: *Kills Vuryal*
(3:47:59 PM) uhighgrad03: oh, hold on a sec hans...i'll go clear out the wiki cache
(3:48:13 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): *grabs his special helmet to uberly unkill himself*
(3:49:43 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): how are we going to "elect" the council? Players nominated? admin appointed?
(3:50:10 PM) vgfhvengence: Player, vote based. Vuryal, it's all in there.
(3:50:34 PM) Hans: how do we know who lives where?
(3:51:07 PM) vgfhvengence: System can tell us, everyone has a birthplace associated with their character.
(3:51:18 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): it's too long to all read right now. it's friday :-D
(3:51:28 PM) Demont: Do you have to be from that place to run as council?
(3:51:49 PM) Ryeanna: naw
(3:52:00 PM) vgfhvengence: no. You run for voting, and then you get 'assigned' a place based on where you came in the vote.
(3:52:08 PM) uhighgrad03: ok, so do we have a leader elected too? leader elected by popular vote of citizens, or by council members?
(3:52:12 PM) uhighgrad03: ah
(3:52:39 PM) vgfhvengence: Basically, I'd expect almost every 'party' to get a town. Just the unpopulars to get a crappy place like alythythingymabob
(3:52:42 PM) vgfhvengence: :-p
(3:52:59 PM) Ryeanna: Would it mebbe work better if the person with the most votes got first choice? and so on.
(3:53:21 PM) vgfhvengence: Could do.
(3:53:24 PM) Demont: So, that means Demont's stake to Cenril could be undone by a vote. Which, would be cool, and would cause RP, but, what if it comes to someone RPing a hostile take over?
(3:53:41 PM) vgfhvengence: Then it would have to be done as a town attacking another.
(3:53:41 PM) Ryeanna: cos somebody might be really popular but has no interest in running for example rynvale but would love alithrya.
(3:53:51 PM) vgfhvengence: In which case, funds would be used to build attacks.
(3:54:07 PM) Ryeanna: and they can buy seiege weapons from us :-D
(3:54:14 PM) vgfhvengence: exactly.
(3:54:19 PM) uhighgrad03: and how are the taxes going to work?
(3:54:33 PM) uhighgrad03: ah, n/m
(3:55:15 PM) uhighgrad03: is the fund money going to be taken from player accounts?
(3:55:33 PM) Demont: Create a treasury for each city?
(3:55:44 PM) Hans: umm bad news sven...
(3:56:22 PM) uhighgrad03: try logging in now hans
(3:56:29 PM) uhighgrad03: and then i'll have to readd you
(3:56:36 PM) uhighgrad03: so let me know if you can login first of all
(3:56:49 PM) vgfhvengence: yes. It could be done two ways, either directly make a tax that would remove from every player that
(3:56:49 PM) vgfhvengence: came from there, a % set by council between 1 and 10, or charge to enter that councils borders. I think a combination of both would be pretty cool
(3:56:59 PM) vgfhvengence: This too large message crap is annoying the hell out of me
(3:57:11 PM) Demont: lol
(3:57:20 PM) Hans: ah it woked!
(3:57:24 PM) Demont: thought you liked large things V?
(3:57:49 PM) uhighgrad03: ok, now you should be able to get to the wiki entry
(3:57:52 PM) Ryeanna: annoys me too.
(3:58:03 PM) Hans: but no admin access...
(3:58:09 PM) uhighgrad03: you should have it now
(3:58:15 PM) Fertangle: Will there be a grase period for newb players just joining?
(3:58:22 PM) Fertangle: grace**
(3:58:30 PM) Hans: ah ok thank Sven.
(3:58:31 PM) Demont: Tene's still on about the decision. lol
(3:59:23 PM) Ryeanna: talk about a broken record
(3:59:47 PM) Ryeanna: tho she is doin EXACTLY what was predicted
(3:59:51 PM) Ryeanna: using it as ammo
(4:00:44 PM) vgfhvengence: let her lol
(4:00:47 PM) Fertangle: she just doesn't see the hassle it will put us through just to do what she wanted.
(4:00:58 PM) vgfhvengence: As America says, we will not bow down to terrorists demands.
(4:01:08 PM) Ryeanna: its the players I'd feel sorry for if she got her way
(4:01:14 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): told y
(4:01:15 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): ya
(4:01:16 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): :-D
(4:01:35 PM) Demont: admin Don't complain about an admin made decision. Refer to the rules.
(4:01:49 PM) Ryeanna: imagine ya been around a fortnight ya just got a decent amount of gold (not much but you happy with it) and somebody tricks some off ya. I know I'd be unhappy.
(4:02:33 PM) Fertangle: I know I'd be complaing to oh yeah the Admin for allowing it
(4:02:41 PM) Ryeanna: exactly.
(4:03:09 PM) vgfhvengence: lol look, if she moans to you, respond with 'We've been told to tell you that only Vgfh is allowed to respond to you' lol
(4:03:15 PM) vgfhvengence: And I'll ignore her.
(4:03:25 PM) Demont: lol
(4:03:29 PM) Fertangle: it's not like it can be RP'ed with out the need for the damn items
(4:03:31 PM) Ryeanna: lol like it
(4:03:32 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): right on V
(4:03:41 PM) Fertangle: can't**
(4:03:59 PM) Demont: I'll just tell her to stuff it.
(4:04:20 PM) vgfhvengence: No Demont lol, remember, emotionally neutral.
(4:04:20 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i love how she put that up on the clan chat, and Demont is the only other clanman logged in. *lmao*
(4:04:31 PM) Fertangle: klmao
(4:04:33 PM) Hans: you know I use the "talk to v line a lot" (mostly for the bad ideas, I send the good ones to Rye.)
(4:04:36 PM) Ryeanna: lol I didn't notice that
(4:04:49 PM) vgfhvengence: lol
(4:04:53 PM) Ryeanna: lol
(4:04:54 PM) Demont: lol
(4:05:29 PM) Demont: Being emotionly nuetral is boring.
(4:05:37 PM) vgfhvengence: But it is required.
(4:05:46 PM) Ryeanna: she reminds me of one of those tin pot dictators thrashing out but nobody wants to know.
(4:05:51 PM) vgfhvengence: Anyway
(4:05:55 PM) vgfhvengence: Back to the meeting
(4:06:00 PM) Ryeanna: yes
(4:06:10 PM) vgfhvengence: We were talking about token
(4:06:12 PM) vgfhvengence: s
(4:06:12 PM) Demont: Are we going ahed with the council thing, then?
(4:06:23 PM) Ryeanna: yes to councils and yes to tokens
(4:06:53 PM) vgfhvengence: Unsure about tokens, I suggest, trailing it with the scales idea.
(4:07:14 PM) Ryeanna: yeah
(4:07:32 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i'd be up for trials on both of them
(4:07:41 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): like, maybe 3 cities under the council for now
(4:07:57 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): or else, we can set up "countries" that might include a few cities in it
(4:07:59 PM) vgfhvengence: Councils is no trial, it's an all or nothing. The amount of programming involved means we either do it or we don't.
(4:08:09 PM) vgfhvengence: Once we say go, then it goes ahead.
(4:08:16 PM) Hans: like i said in the h-mail it needs hammering (most my ideas do)
(4:08:25 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i just think we don't have enough players for all the cities. but, shore if everyone else is a go
(4:09:02 PM) Demont: What about just the key cities?
(4:09:54 PM) Demont: And the smaller ones can be enveloped within, and be 'governed' by a small portion of the larger cities council?
(4:10:11 PM) vgfhvengence: Like it says, key cities, can be altered.
(4:10:33 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): countries or counties, i like. something larger, maybe more revenue over all that could be used to either 1) build up main city, or 2) build up secondary cities. just to even out the wealth of the councils
(4:11:15 PM) Hans: also a down bump.
(4:11:18 PM) vgfhvengence: Not sure even is the way to go. Inequality creates envy, which creates conflict.
(4:11:42 PM) Ryeanna: really they are kinda like counties
(4:11:51 PM) Ryeanna: cos there tends to be bits around the city
(4:11:56 PM) Demont: What about implementing a 'farming' thing? Members of the selected city can 'farm' for natural resources, base whats farmed on certian areas, and sell to other cities(counties/countries) whatever
(4:11:58 PM) vgfhvengence: We could take it further with the RP side and say that each area has +'s and -'s
(4:12:33 PM) vgfhvengence: So you could say that Larket has a +20 defence bonus and a -10 combat bonus
(4:12:38 PM) vgfhvengence: for example
(4:12:38 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i like that. make advantages/disads for each of them.
(4:12:51 PM) Ryeanna: i like that
(4:12:59 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): cenril + 200 gold due to size, -10 for security
(4:13:28 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): kelay = +100 admin + 100 ass kicking ability
(4:13:28 PM) Ryeanna: larket gets + combat cos of the monsters they cna bring from the forrest but - food because the fermin steal it (and their door knobs)
(4:13:43 PM) Demont: And, witht he farming thing, it would/coul tie into player run shops, encourage an in game economic system and such
(4:13:53 PM) vgfhvengence: Exactly
(4:14:00 PM) Hans: hehehe
(4:14:19 PM) vgfhvengence: It has huge implications once done, and loads of things we can tack on easily.
(4:14:23 PM) Ryeanna: its very much a lych pin we can build things around
(4:14:30 PM) Ryeanna: lynch*
(4:15:02 PM) vgfhvengence: You could even give councils food based on how much farm land they have to distribute during famine.
(4:15:09 PM) Hans: yes and a togal to turn to whole thing off if need be (repares upgrades)
(4:15:49 PM) vgfhvengence: I really like the famine idea, not that I want to see people starve... Did I mention that already?
(4:16:12 PM) Fertangle: have you pitched that idea to Sven about the famine button v?
(4:16:49 PM) vgfhvengence: Yeah, he's had it twice, Rye sent it, and then I sent it lol
(4:17:00 PM) Fertangle: lol,good
(4:17:13 PM) vgfhvengence: One of the players suggest the whole idea by themselves.
(4:17:24 PM) Fertangle: Tannis
(4:17:30 PM) vgfhvengence: Now I don't know if someone leaked it out and that's why, but meh.
(4:17:41 PM) uhighgrad03: oh, an update on that famine thing
(4:18:40 PM) Ryeanna: yep?
(4:18:42 PM) Unable to send message: The message is too large.
(4:18:48 PM) uhighgrad03: the inventory database is another problem i've been running into with queries taking a crapload of time to execute,
(4:18:49 PM) uhighgrad03: so i want to hold off for the near future of putting that in place, until i have a better grasp on how to optimize it
(4:18:53 PM) uhighgrad03: stupid message is too large message
(4:19:17 PM) uhighgrad03: but it's on the radar, and i'll put that into the database as i restructure the inventory system.
(4:19:54 PM) vgfhvengence: have we had this problem in the past? I'm just wondering why we're suddenly having these problems and nothing has really changed. Have they ripped some mem out of our rig? lol
(4:20:57 PM) Ryeanna: Oh sven did ya find out if it was the other guys taking the memory?
(4:21:03 PM) uhighgrad03: i think it just hit a breaking point with the loads of inventory items in there
(4:21:12 PM) uhighgrad03: and it finally went kablooey
(4:21:21 PM) vgfhvengence: Hmmm. Crap. Ok, idea.
(4:21:26 PM) Hans: about the item data base is there a way we can list it by item tipe (weapon, armor, food, other) beacue that thing is geting long.
(4:21:32 PM) vgfhvengence: And it's something that's already kinda in the system
(4:21:44 PM) vgfhvengence: Maximum mass of items carried.
(4:21:55 PM) vgfhvengence: Encumbrance basically.
(4:22:36 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): off topic, slighlty. but, with some items, could we make them - aggro, meaning they would be more likely to get attacked if they wore it? or is that already programmed?
(4:22:46 PM) vgfhvengence: Already programmed
(4:22:50 PM) vgfhvengence: Ala pick axe.
(4:23:09 PM) uhighgrad03: stupid evil pick axe
(4:23:13 PM) vgfhvengence: lol
(4:23:17 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): you get attacked MORE if you wear the pick axe?
(4:23:18 PM) Hans: and we the flip side to.
(4:23:18 PM) uhighgrad03: :-D
(4:23:26 PM) vgfhvengence: Too right, everything attacks you.
(4:23:30 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): nice
(4:23:47 PM) Fertangle: thought you already knew that Vurry
(4:23:56 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i thought it protected, not attacked more
(4:24:01 PM) Fertangle: lol
(4:24:03 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): tells ya what i really know...
(4:24:11 PM) vgfhvengence: These people that go around moaning they get attacked all the time, it's cause they have the axe equipped lol
(4:24:16 PM) Ryeanna: hee hee
(4:24:27 PM) vgfhvengence: If they just looked at the thing, it would tell them it was cursed lol
(4:24:52 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): so, keys work now, right? so, say, we program in a "hunter's license" like I have in alithyra. we could make a specialized "forest/hunting area" for those people that have those equipped, right?
(4:25:02 PM) vgfhvengence: Vury, one thing at a time.
(4:25:07 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): sorry... lol
(4:25:08 PM) vgfhvengence: Encumbrance.
(4:25:22 PM) vgfhvengence: Would something like that solve our inventory overload sven?
(4:25:23 PM) uhighgrad03: yes, that's correct
(4:26:09 PM) Ryeanna: is the problem that the item database is too big or that people are carrying too much items in their iventories?
(4:26:13 PM) uhighgrad03: if we cap inventories? yeah, but that's dangerous with the backlash we'll face...won't it? maybe we can find the encumbrance of the inventory hogs, see where it'll only piss off like 50 people or so
(4:26:22 PM) uhighgrad03: too much in their inventories usually
(4:26:26 PM) Hans: and how would that work? just on str stat? one would thing ogres would be able to carry more than say an elf (or fermin)
(4:26:59 PM) vgfhvengence: I honestly don't know about backlash on it. Most stat based RPg's have that kind of stat.
(4:27:16 PM) Ryeanna: yeah
(4:27:56 PM) Ryeanna: they have it in dnd based games too
(4:27:56 PM) vgfhvengence: I mean the bad items idea will automatically kill all the food people hoarde.
(4:28:22 PM) Hans: or put in a "storage bank" or something put as much as you want in there but costs gold per item.
(4:28:25 PM) uhighgrad03: are food items the problem, do you think?
(4:28:32 PM) vgfhvengence: That's bound to get rid of a quarter of the items anyway, if we just make them choose what they carry.
(4:28:39 PM) Fertangle: yeah perishable food would help out alot
(4:28:44 PM) vgfhvengence: I don't know, I'd say it makes a decent amount of it.
(4:28:54 PM) vgfhvengence: I mean hans will be the first to admit he carries loads of food.
(4:29:20 PM) Hans: only as my ogre.
(4:29:46 PM) Hans: over 2000 dead rats i think.
(4:29:53 PM) Ryeanna: really there's not a lot of need for it
(4:29:57 PM) Ryeanna: foods sold all over
(4:30:04 PM) Fertangle: I know of people carrying 30k of one food or drink then you have the others that have lists and list of just single food and rink items
(4:30:09 PM) Ryeanna: and its not hard to walk somewhere else in hollow
(4:30:15 PM) Hans: rats are hard to come by...
(4:30:18 PM) Ryeanna: lol
(4:30:21 PM) vgfhvengence: I think it's more the amount of types rather than the amount of one item.
(4:30:25 PM) vgfhvengence: Is that right sven?
(4:30:50 PM) uhighgrad03: right-o, v
(4:30:51 PM) Demont: The more of one type you have, the more queries the database would need to make.
(4:31:04 PM) uhighgrad03: the more of one type, you actually have that as just one entry into the database
(4:31:09 PM) Ryeanna: would a slot type inventory not help that better?
(4:31:19 PM) uhighgrad03: which will also change based on the perishable food idea
(4:31:21 PM) vgfhvengence: Define slot type rye.
(4:31:42 PM) Ryeanna: like diablo or wow where ya have a bag and ya can carry twenty items but ya can have multiples
(4:31:45 PM) uhighgrad03: so the perishable food thing will actually dramatically increase the amount of entries to the inventory database
(4:31:48 PM) vgfhvengence: Well a quick count of my inv, I have 8 food items.
(4:32:17 PM) Hans: 17 items
(4:32:28 PM) Hans: (food only)
(4:32:31 PM) Fertangle: 15 but 1 of them is a weapon
(4:32:32 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): hey sven, i think the keys are backwards... **off topic, sorry**
(4:32:37 PM) Ryeanna: 14 *eats a dead rat ewwww* 13
(4:32:54 PM) Hans: rat am good eat!
(4:32:56 PM) Ryeanna: I included drinks
(4:33:00 PM) vgfhvengence: yes
(4:33:02 PM) Demont: The database juts stores the information into fields, and then, when you go to your inventory, the code access the database through a query to display the items. The more of one type you have, the more queries need to be made, Rye.
(4:33:16 PM) Hans: well 26 then
(4:33:39 PM) Ryeanna: ah wrong end of the stick then sorry
(4:33:51 PM) vgfhvengence: Not sure about that demont, I envision it just having to make one, it would ask the database how many of that field it had.
(4:34:05 PM) vgfhvengence: My database is sketchy, been a long time.
(4:34:32 PM) vgfhvengence: Like I say, the quieries are gonna come from how many different things you have in there. The amount doesn't actually matter.
(4:34:43 PM) Ryeanna: then slots might help
(4:35:03 PM) Demont: If you have one kind of item, you can have 245923579, and it'll show that item and it's number you have. Now, if you have several types with that amount, that can be bad
(4:35:10 PM) Ryeanna: tho I've never seen it in a txt based game
(4:35:19 PM) uhighgrad03: about the database thing....right now, the amount doesn't matter, just the different items. but with perishable items, then you'll dramatically increase the number of things in the inventory database
(4:35:34 PM) vgfhvengence: Yeah, I see where you're going with that sven.
(4:35:48 PM) vgfhvengence: Each item needs dates assigned, essentially making it a new item right?
(4:35:54 PM) Hans: I would think you'd need pics for that to work...
(4:35:55 PM) uhighgrad03: right
(4:37:04 PM) vgfhvengence: The slots idea is promising, you could make it so that you could only have say 5 types of each item.
(4:37:33 PM) vgfhvengence: 5 different foodstuffs, 5 different drinks, 5 different arm, 5 different leg etc.
(4:37:50 PM) Hans: armor and weapons would be there own slots?
(4:38:23 PM) uhighgrad03: hrm...not sure i'm gellin with that idea...i think that'd actually complicate things more on my end
(4:38:31 PM) vgfhvengence: Ok.
(4:38:46 PM) Demont: Yeah, I think adding a limit to how many items you can carry at one time (Like the encumberment) would solve the issue?
(4:39:11 PM) Ryeanna: that probs work better
(4:39:14 PM) Hans: oh I see yeah, but still infinite number of sigle items (999 biscuit)
(4:39:15 PM) vgfhvengence: Simple as that then, you can only carry 20 different items at a time, would that make it easier.
(4:39:43 PM) vgfhvengence: My obvious concern is that there are 17 armour pieces.
(4:39:44 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): news alert... ciadra just logged on
(4:39:44 PM) Demont: It would limit the load a lot, i think
(4:40:11 PM) Fertangle: yeah 17 armour peices then you mine
(4:40:14 PM) Hans: so say 50?
(4:40:35 PM) uhighgrad03: i'd go with even more, i wouldn't mind 100 or so - i'll look into our outliers as far as who has the most
(4:40:38 PM) vgfhvengence: I don't know, it depends how much these inv hogs actually have in there.
(4:40:48 PM) uhighgrad03: and then we'll see where the hogs are separated from the ordinaries
(4:40:48 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): lol um, i might have close to the most... :-D
(4:40:50 PM) vgfhvengence: Exactly sven.
(4:40:50 PM) Ryeanna: 100 seems fair
(4:41:07 PM) Demont: 100 works.
(4:41:34 PM) Ryeanna: with the new keys people will be able to have secure clan treasure rooms soon
(4:41:50 PM) Ryeanna: so they can put excess in there
(4:41:58 PM) vgfhvengence: that's gonna create another issue, I can see them getting huge lol
(4:43:06 PM) Ryeanna: .ah well 100 is fine
(4:44:09 PM) uhighgrad03: that last lag was brought to you by yours truly.
(4:44:18 PM) vgfhvengence: lol
(4:44:19 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): ok, i asked sven to reprogram the keys to allow for "equipped" items to be the key instead of inventory based items being the key
(4:44:21 PM) Hans: my ogre has 71 items on him, and i thend to hold on to things...
(4:44:35 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): for instance, a "clan item only" allowing access for anyone who wears that "clan item" to gain access to the room
(4:44:36 PM) vgfhvengence: I'm gonna give Vuryal an item.
(4:44:40 PM) uhighgrad03: well, in addition.
(4:44:49 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): what item... ?
(4:45:01 PM) vgfhvengence: You gave 1 Moon on-a-stick! to Vuryal.
(4:45:13 PM) Ryeanna: lol
(4:45:18 PM) uhighgrad03: anyone wanna guess who has the most items?
(4:45:25 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): like, my "CIA" based clan will have access to secret rooms by equipping an item that only we can get in to.
(4:45:29 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): sweet!
(4:45:41 PM) vgfhvengence: I'd say someone random. I wouldn't go with a 'known' player.
(4:45:58 PM) vgfhvengence: Random players tend to have a load of cheap crap lol
(4:46:03 PM) Hans: um if thay need a clan item to get to the clan hq to get the can armor how do thay get the armor in the first place?
(4:46:22 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): clan member would "give" it to them, i would imagine
(4:46:29 PM) uhighgrad03: cylarrus
(4:46:35 PM) uhighgrad03: cyllarus
(4:46:36 PM) uhighgrad03: rather
(4:46:36 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): oh, duh. lol that makes sense
(4:46:42 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i was going to say him or sanmichel
(4:46:51 PM) Hans: just give out a 11k item?
(4:46:56 PM) Ryeanna: crikey
(4:47:08 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): nah, make them pay for it first, obviously. the other person would buy it for them.
(4:47:28 PM) Unable to send message: The message is too large.
(4:47:31 PM) vgfhvengence: WOW, his inv is impressive lol
(4:47:35 PM) Unable to send message: The message is too large.
(4:47:41 PM) uhighgrad03: Laurelle 230 Sabine 281 Sanmichel 287 Moonlight 301 Pappy 340 Cyllarus 347
(4:47:46 PM) uhighgrad03: Kayla 189 Swordwyne 190 Adhara 193 Valaria 209 Caedan 214 Lanalle 220
(4:47:52 PM) uhighgrad03: Terra 168 Senzal 175 Armitas 179 Tsubaki 184 Marcellus 187 Gwenilyn 188
(4:47:56 PM) uhighgrad03: Beata 156 Rianna 156 Darrien 157 Doel 158 Eyren 162 Tenebrae 166
(4:48:23 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): wow, i'm not even up there. i'm disappointed...
(4:48:30 PM) vgfhvengence: I have like 30 lmao
(4:48:30 PM) uhighgrad03: so right now, there are 55 players over 100 items
(4:48:42 PM) Demont: You just suck, Vuryal.
(4:48:42 PM) Fertangle: and I thought I had a lot of stuff
(4:48:52 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): going to have to buy 1 of everything then! muh-ha-ha!
(4:49:01 PM) vgfhvengence: lmao, yeah, kill the system lmao
(4:49:02 PM) Hans: cyllarus wins!
(4:49:18 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): i'll even make an extra custom, so literally, have 1 of everything in the system! muh-ha-ha!
(4:49:41 PM) uhighgrad03: so maybe start it out by limiting to 200, then saying we're going to decrease that to 100 within a few weeks
(4:49:44 PM) vgfhvengence: So if we limit to 100, then we're gonna shave roughly how much from the item database. 1/6th? Less, more?
(4:49:50 PM) Hans: how many items are there in the system?
(4:50:25 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): anyways, i'm going to have to jet. expected home in 30 minutes, and it's a 1 hour commute. i'm f*d
(4:50:31 PM) Fertangle: I could shift 1/2 my inv if V put the prek shop in
(4:50:38 PM) vgfhvengence: It is in lol
(4:50:49 PM) vgfhvengence: Only you have to edit it to sell back lol
(4:51:00 PM) vgfhvengence: I don't want to open to players just yet lol
(4:51:12 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney): someone hmail/email the rest of this to me?
(4:51:13 PM) vgfhvengence: Still too much floating around.
(4:51:19 PM) uhighgrad03: well....it's not so much size, but it kind of increases exponentially and the load the server takes when those large players check their inventory is kinda ginormous.
(4:51:34 PM) Demont: I ain't getting rid of my prek gear >.>
(4:51:41 PM) vgfhvengence: Ah, I see what you're saying.
(4:52:02 PM) Vuryal/Ingham (JR Delaney) left the room.
(4:52:42 PM) uhighgrad03: so yeah, a person with 100 different items usually takes 1000 times the processing power of someone with 1 item, so it's not quite exponential, but more than linear.
(4:53:00 PM) uhighgrad03: and then i think 100 to 1000 is on the order of 1000000 or something
(4:53:28 PM) vgfhvengence: so basically log based either way.
(4:54:45 PM) Hans: I feal sorry for pore cyllarus, his inv is that big becuse of his rp...
(4:55:07 PM) Fertangle: yeah he's a merchant isn't he?
(4:55:14 PM) uhighgrad03: uh, yeah, you're the math person
(4:55:22 PM) Ryeanna: I was thinkin that myself
(4:55:53 PM) uhighgrad03: hrm...so how do we want to handle that then? we want to grandfather these guys in, then once they drop below 100, limit them?
(4:55:54 PM) vgfhvengence: Doesn't matter, if it's fecking the system, it needs sorting.
(4:56:20 PM) uhighgrad03: or start the limit up high for them, eventually get down to a smaller level?
(4:56:41 PM) uhighgrad03: cuz it's not a huuuge drain right now, just something that i can see getting to be an even bigger problem than it is now.
(4:56:52 PM) Ryeanna: porbably best
(4:57:01 PM) Ryeanna: they can slowly wind it down
(4:57:26 PM) vgfhvengence: Fair enough, but the assumption you're making is their inventories will get smaller naturally,.
(4:57:43 PM) vgfhvengence: How about this.
(4:57:49 PM) Ryeanna: we can tell them its gonna be gradually reduced so they should make provision lol
(4:58:12 PM) vgfhvengence: You put the 100 limit in, but what it does is stops anyone going above 100, if they have more than 100, they can't get anything different till they drop below.
(4:58:31 PM) Hans: I think Cyll will go along with it (he's reasable from what I've seen)
(4:58:36 PM) vgfhvengence: So if you have 347, you keep 347, but can't get anything new.
(4:58:48 PM) Fertangle: sounds fair
(4:58:57 PM) Ryeanna: yeah very fair
(4:59:26 PM) Fertangle: not sure if your being sarky there Rye
(4:59:32 PM) Ryeanna: I wans't
(4:59:44 PM) Ryeanna: I was just thinkin that way people don't lose anything so thats fair
(5:00:50 PM) Fertangle: yep, most of the players will be reasonable about it. and try to bring their invs down
(5:01:01 PM) Hans: we may want to change mineing a fishing around a bit then (have it convert to money right away, so you don't have to sell anything (frees up inv space)
(5:01:15 PM) Ryeanna: thats a nifty idea
(5:01:36 PM) uhighgrad03: are people going to go nutzo that they can't get anything else until they drop below that number? maybe allow them to drop in 50-item increments?
(5:02:02 PM) Hans: we will need more shops thay can sell back to.
(5:02:21 PM) vgfhvengence: I honestly don't see how they can complain. How do you mean drop in 50 increments?
(5:02:28 PM) Demont: A central trading area? (For the new people who might not know thier way around)
(5:03:21 PM) Hans: nah, well just let more have have a buy back.
(5:03:41 PM) Hans: *more shops
(5:05:21 PM) uhighgrad03: like...if they're at 347 now, don't allow them to go above that, but then once they get down to 300, don't let them go above that
(5:05:29 PM) uhighgrad03: so they can pickup an item if they really want to
(5:05:33 PM) Hans: oh demont, just a reminder what is said in the admin meatings, stays here. (kinda tiped our hand on the tax thing)
(5:05:35 PM) uhighgrad03: or even 10-item increments
(5:05:50 PM) vgfhvengence: 10 could work.
(5:06:01 PM) Demont: I was going to go ahead with that for my clan anyways, before we talked about this here.
(5:06:03 PM) vgfhvengence: I think you're being too nice, but yeah, it could work.
(5:06:21 PM) uhighgrad03: okee
(5:06:47 PM) Hans: ah ok, just making sure.
(5:07:57 PM) Ryeanna: so we settled on that then?
(5:08:40 PM) uhighgrad03: yup, inventory settled.
(5:08:45 PM) Hans: I'm ok wiht it.
(5:09:02 PM) Ryeanna: awesomeness
(5:09:03 PM) Demont: off-topicness: Why the sudden spike in Exec admins?
(5:09:16 PM) vgfhvengence: Cause you're all arses who are power hungry.
(5:09:22 PM) Unable to send message: The message is too large.
(5:09:28 PM) uhighgrad03: keys are now working so it'll look in both your inventory and worn items for the key.
(5:09:28 PM) uhighgrad03: then, if you are going to lose the item due to the key, it'll first take from your inventory & if you don't have it, it'll take from your worn items.
(5:09:31 PM) Fertangle: cos I'm after V's job lol
(5:10:10 PM) Hans: how ever we may want to have the option of uping max inv space if we need to (all the quest items)
(5:10:21 PM) Demont: Have it a premium?
(5:11:16 PM) Hans: I thinking more of a little wiggle room, in case 100 is not enough.
(5:11:33 PM) vgfhvengence: I honestly don't know why someone would have 100 items lol
(5:11:46 PM) uhighgrad03: well i figure if only 55 people right now have > 100 items, that that limit should be ok
(5:11:48 PM) Ryeanna: could certain items be made exept from the total for stuff like quest items? just wondering not suggesting it
(5:11:54 PM) Hans: but we dont have quests yet eather V.
(5:12:02 PM) uhighgrad03: yeah, we could do that
(5:12:13 PM) uhighgrad03: ah, we also don't have the smithing or forging yet either, good point.
(5:12:21 PM) uhighgrad03: we can reexamine once those are put in place?
(5:12:29 PM) Ryeanna: goodie
(5:12:32 PM) vgfhvengence: Yeah, I suppose.
(5:14:05 PM) Demont: Seems others are having trouble with the links, like Anshera was...
(5:14:12 PM) Demont: Refreshing.
(5:15:39 PM) Hans: oh I've been wondering (this may take some programing and I sure is years away) you know how we have race only rooms? can we make room to keep certon races out (like everyone can go in but giants)
(5:15:55 PM) Ryeanna: Oooooh
(5:15:59 PM) Ryeanna: nifty
(5:16:10 PM) Demont: And dragons...*Thinks tavern*
(5:16:15 PM) Ryeanna: lol
(5:16:25 PM) Ryeanna: cud keep undead and vamps out of holy places
(5:16:34 PM) Hans: and expanding on that can we have race types (small type [pixie] mid type [human] and lager type [giant}
(5:17:54 PM) Hans: undead type (and maybe even crossover)
(5:18:41 PM) Ryeanna: defintely somethin for the future
(5:20:02 PM) uhighgrad03: that's be cool, definitely something for the future.
(5:20:21 PM) vgfhvengence: Indeed
(5:20:25 PM) Demont: Quite.
(5:20:30 PM) Hans: and have some keys that over ride some of that.
(5:20:53 PM) Fertangle: just thinking that
(5:20:56 PM) vgfhvengence: Anything else, I'm getting sleepy lol
(5:21:02 PM) Hans: Giant walk pendent or some such
(5:21:27 PM) Ryeanna: lets give ferty a go he has some stuffs
(5:22:16 PM) Fertangle: I was going to bring up Tannis's famine RP idea, but with preishables and the famine button. I think it's a no go for the time being until that gets implimented in the future
(5:23:09 PM) Fertangle: and into that I was thinking of instead of coin drops in PvP you could have food drops instead
(5:23:10 PM) Hans: ok want about the new planes idea Rye? You ever run that by v?
(5:23:46 PM) Ryeanna: I thought we talked about that before?
(5:24:37 PM) Hans: last I saw he never responded. unless I missed a meating?
(5:25:49 PM) vgfhvengence: not sure why we'd need em tbh
(5:28:06 PM) Ryeanna: we wanted to add a spectral and shadow plane we still workin on the background.
(5:28:13 PM) vgfhvengence: ok
(5:28:26 PM) Demont: *Demonts a Spectral being, and feels lonley.*
(5:29:27 PM) Hans: well I want to put a stop to all the "ghosts runing about hollow with no ruels on them.
(5:31:19 PM) Demont: They all copied me.
(5:31:48 PM) Demont: I only know me me and Mischa as the only "ghosts"
(5:31:54 PM) Demont: me and*
(5:32:02 PM) Ryeanna: I was a 'dark spectre' back when custom races were allowed
(5:32:06 PM) Ryeanna: spooky!
(5:32:43 PM) Hans: hans has be ghost- like snece before i was an admin. (first turm)
(5:33:02 PM) vgfhvengence: as much as I hate to take her side lol, maitane
(5:33:12 PM) Ryeanna: we'll work on the background and rules for that stuffs then
(5:34:01 PM) Hans: also V had a run in with spooks aroun the time Hans was geting ghosty.
(5:34:25 PM) Demont: *through Maitane was a banshee?* Oh well.
(5:34:42 PM) Demont: Or, RPed as one. or, did. *bad memory*
(5:35:14 PM) vgfhvengence: banshees are ghosts.
(5:36:25 PM) Hans: I've got lots of ideas floating about the old noggin I'll H-mail them to Rye when I get the time and we can hammer them out (same goes for you Rye, if you got ideas h-mail em)
(5:36:29 PM) Demont: *curses drugs* I don't know why, but I've been picturing Bansee's as looking like the Lochness Monster. -_-
(5:36:39 PM) vgfhvengence: lmfao
(5:36:43 PM) Ryeanna: sure hans
(5:36:48 PM) uhighgrad03: anyone want to test out full cure? (sorry for off topic)
(5:36:49 PM) vgfhvengence: I'm gonna tell her that when I see her lmao.
(5:36:53 PM) Ryeanna: and thats em weird lol
(5:36:57 PM) Ryeanna: Me!
(5:37:00 PM) vgfhvengence: In fact sod it, I'm gonna put it in the IA.
(5:37:09 PM) uhighgrad03: need you to test the math on it especially.
(5:37:18 PM) Hans: you know she studing welsh I can help but think you had some part in that v...
(5:37:20 PM) Demont: IA?
(5:37:25 PM) Hans: *can't
(5:37:27 PM) Ryeanna: wacha want me to do exactly?
(5:37:29 PM) vgfhvengence: idiot archive
(5:37:32 PM) Demont: lma
(5:37:35 PM) Demont: lmao
(5:37:45 PM) Ryeanna: actually best not
(5:37:49 PM) Ryeanna: I didn't see the time
(5:37:57 PM) Ryeanna: unless it can wait a little till tomorrow
(5:37:58 PM) Demont: It's not my fault. It's the drugs. ;_;
(5:38:50 PM) Demont: Ain't it like, 11:38 or so for you guys?
(5:38:55 PM) Ryeanna: yep
(5:38:57 PM) Hans: if you have ideas you need help hammering out run em by me I see if I can help.
(5:39:57 PM) vgfhvengence: Ok, full cure...
(5:40:00 PM) Hans: it's only 3:40 ish here but I woke up at 9 pm last night, so yeah...
(5:40:32 PM) uhighgrad03: oh, just cure people, yourself, make sure the math adds up
(5:41:03 PM) Ryeanna: I'll give it a whirl tomorrow as well :-)
(5:41:05 PM) uhighgrad03: eeep...accidentally let the full cure message get included
(5:41:17 PM) uhighgrad03: lol
(5:41:31 PM) vgfhvengence: You cast full cure on yourself. A blinding blue wave of light surrounds you, healing for 4471.
(5:41:44 PM) uhighgrad03: that in any way right?
(5:41:55 PM) vgfhvengence: Not really lol
(5:41:58 PM) uhighgrad03: lol
(5:42:00 PM) vgfhvengence: I have 4446 health.
(5:42:24 PM) vgfhvengence: How is it working out the stamina cost also?
(5:42:38 PM) Hans: lol!
(5:43:35 PM) uhighgrad03: it costs 3 st and mp per cure, which is your intelligence plus a random number from 1-3.
(5:43:41 PM) Hans: V kill then cure me.
(5:44:08 PM) vgfhvengence: You cast full cure on Hans. A blinding blue wave of light surrounds Hans, healing them for 153.

(5:44:26 PM) Hans: thats not right only have 109 health and was at full...
(5:44:30 PM) vgfhvengence: So, basically, it's working out how many times it'd have to cure you, adding up the cost and subtracting it?
(5:44:40 PM) vgfhvengence: I put you on 1hp
(5:44:49 PM) Hans: still not right...
(5:45:48 PM) uhighgrad03: oooh, i gots it...i think
(5:46:07 PM) Hans: You cast cure on Vgfh. A blue wave of light surrounds Vgfh, healing them for 28.
(5:46:16 PM) Hans: i know I cure for more than that!
(5:46:47 PM) uhighgrad03: lol, craptastic....i accidentally threw in the cure code that mentioned full cure.
(5:46:56 PM) uhighgrad03: and now people are complainy
(5:47:01 PM) Demont: Yay sven!
(5:47:03 PM) Demont: lol
(5:48:03 PM) Hans: um I should i give myself full cure or just wait for some one to give me?
(5:48:25 PM) uhighgrad03: you can give it to yourself
(5:48:31 PM) uhighgrad03: now the math should be right?
(5:49:46 PM) Hans: You cast full cure on Vgfh. A blinding blue wave of light surrounds Vgfh, healing them for 680.
(5:50:18 PM) Ryeanna: You cast full cure on yourself. A blinding blue wave of light surrounds you, healing for 440.
(5:50:20 PM) Ryeanna: spot on
(5:50:20 PM) uhighgrad03: is the math right now?
(5:50:43 PM) uhighgrad03: k's...and stamina, magic seem to be acting rather decently?
(5:51:00 PM) Hans: did i get stats for that?
(5:51:07 PM) Ryeanna: looks right to me
(5:51:39 PM) vgfhvengence: yeah, without working it out, seems right. Costing about 200 mp which is normal ish
(5:51:55 PM) uhighgrad03: and how about the stat points?
(5:52:15 PM) uhighgrad03: for when you cure someone else
(5:53:27 PM) vgfhvengence: seems to be acting normally.
(5:54:29 PM) uhighgrad03: ok...do we want to release this tonight?
(5:54:50 PM) Hans: umm did you get wis?
(5:56:12 PM) vgfhvengence: nope, no wis
(5:56:17 PM) Hans: i did not see any stat gane.
(5:56:46 PM) vgfhvengence: Errm, can release it, how confident are you about it sven, cause we're not gonna get a chance to put it through it's paces till tomoz.
(5:58:03 PM) Demont: My stats gained.
(5:58:31 PM) Hans: i say wait untill we work can out the bugs but thats just me.
(5:58:41 PM) Ryeanna: safey does it
(5:58:55 PM) Ryeanna: mebbes wait till monday or something?.
(5:59:06 PM) Demont: Seemed to work fine for me. 8*shrug*
(5:59:40 PM) Hans: ok yeah got gain and I'm just about to level mp.
(6:00:32 PM) Hans: and leveld a mp so it looks like it's woking.
(6:00:50 PM) Demont: I say it's a go.
(6:01:40 PM) Hans: wat no stats after mp gain and stoped cueing after i leveled (I still have mp)
(6:01:59 PM) vgfhvengence: I don't see any bugs tbh. I reckon it's relatively safe to put it in.
(6:02:03 PM) Hans: ... but no stamm i see...
(6:02:41 PM) Hans: yup look like a go for me to.
(6:02:52 PM) vgfhvengence: I'm gonna have to go to bed. I'll leave the chat running so if you say anything else I'll read it in the morning.
(6:03:02 PM) vgfhvengence: Catch you all later.
(6:03:07 PM) Fertangle: later
(6:03:09 PM) Ryeanna: me too all bleary eyed lol
(6:03:30 PM) Ryeanna: somebody keep anythin interetsing for me?
(6:03:37 PM) Fertangle: will do
(6:03:45 PM) Fertangle: night Rye
(6:04:07 PM) Demont: adios
(6:04:13 PM) Hans: he did not fix his hp, it will take me all night to heal him little help?
(6:04:22 PM) Ryeanna: night everyone!
(6:04:52 PM) Ryeanna: what needs doin? (before I go lol)
(6:04:54 PM) Fertangle: I don't cure :-(
(6:05:38 PM) Hans: niever min I just go into his stats and do it *thwaps head* duh.
(6:05:52 PM) Ryeanna: lol
(6:05:59 PM) Ryeanna: g'night all
(6:06:03 PM) Fertangle: night
(6:06:05 PM) uhighgrad03: :)
(6:06:09 PM) uhighgrad03: g'night all
(6:06:16 PM) Hans: night rye I'ma head off to guys.
(6:06:17 PM) uhighgrad03: wel...those that are going to bed :)
(6:06:20 PM) Ryeanna left the room.
(6:06:22 PM) uhighgrad03: oh wait
(6:06:29 PM) uhighgrad03: what's not working with full cure before you leave hans?
(6:06:32 PM) Hans: yes?
(6:07:04 PM) Hans: I have low stats, the cure is fine.
(6:07:21 PM) uhighgrad03: okee
(6:07:42 PM) Hans: my only problem is vgfh have overe 4000 hp and I have 81 mp *snickers*
(6:07:50 PM) Fertangle: lol
(6:07:54 PM) Demont: I only have 50 =]
(6:08:12 PM) Fertangle: I have 300 but only kill:-D
(6:08:15 PM) uhighgrad03: :) ookee, so full cure iss working fine as you guys see it?
(6:08:33 PM) Hans: I was once a stat king dang nab it!
(6:09:37 PM) Hans: yes, but V and fert are the only systems guys... (v is gone and fert dont have cure)
(6:09:57 PM) Fertangle: I have anit cure right now
(6:10:46 PM) Hans: so if there are any glitches, v will likey find them tomarow.
(6:11:07 PM) uhighgrad03: i gave you full cure, f
(6:11:12 PM) Fertangle: okkies
(6:11:23 PM) uhighgrad03: let me know if you see anything wonky.
(6:11:53 PM) Hans: you just gave a warrior cure?
(6:12:11 PM) uhighgrad03: and then the next step is to set the price and location
(6:12:48 PM) Fertangle: You cast full cure on yourself. A blinding blue wave of light surrounds you, healing for -749820.

(6:12:51 PM) Fertangle: lol
(6:12:54 PM) Demont: I'm a knight and have it.
(6:13:01 PM) Demont: Way to go Fert
(6:13:10 PM) Fertangle: hang on a moe I'm still in anti cure
(6:13:22 PM) Hans: if he gets cure I want the sword of 1000 truths *snickers*
(6:13:24 PM) Demont: And, it seems to be working fine. Gaining stats, healing.
(6:15:19 PM) Demont: Hey, only 3000 or so more health til V is cured
(6:16:02 PM) uhighgrad03: lmao
(6:16:04 PM) Fertangle: lol just killed myself again
(6:16:13 PM) uhighgrad03: fert's crackin me up
(6:16:14 PM) Hans: now the question is do i set my int to 3000 or just fix his hp?
(6:16:55 PM) Fertangle: ok thats better
(6:16:59 PM) Demont: *Is jealous of you all others, with more than exec powers*
(6:18:29 PM) Hans: i had just exec powers of a long time (I thought i was coming back as just exec but thay shanghied me)
(6:18:45 PM) Demont: lol
(6:19:08 PM) Fertangle: yep the calculate up fine
(6:19:17 PM) Fertangle: that ** not the
(6:21:23 PM) Demont: I'd say it's ready for release.
(6:21:41 PM) Fertangle: yep all working fine
(6:22:14 PM) Demont: And, as for where to buy it...What if I come up with an RP quest, or something fer it?
(6:22:35 PM) Demont: Hans, hook me up with some of that root?
