"...love a misfit like me" Spinelli talking to himself
I'm in a pretty down mood today, so please excuse the pessimistic view I'm sure I will have today. It's just one of those things/days and I have a feeling it will color my perception of whatever I'm watching and/or doing. So in advance I'm sorry about that.
Okay now that that is out of the way: Once again, I wasn't as overly excited by the show as I have been but I did love the ending between Spinelli and Maxie. Before I get into my bullet list for GH (or what I saw of the show) let me start by saying that I will not be watching Young and the Restless anymore most likely. I really enjoy John. He is a great guy and a great actor, but the writing is getting under my skin. Maybe this will change once I'm in a better mood, but for right now... *sigh* Here is the bullet list for GH:

- So Kristina is dating an abusive boyfriend. Wow what a shock. The verbal put downs weren't making the point obvious enough, so the writers had him slap her. I really didn't want to see that, and I still dislike the character, but yeah, she doesn't deserve that.
- Carly and Lacks-intelligence (Jax) are still borderline stupid. I wish I could like her since she is obvious the one we are supposed to like. Watching her "love" her husband turns my stomach. I'm so sick of the "stay calm"/"Carly's delicate" storyline. She doesn't need to reproduce. She has enough kids. Michael is a demon and Morgan...well he seems normal but I'm sure that is about to change. He does have Sonny and Carly's DNA in him.
- I wanted to slap the fire out of Carly for once again claiming Sonny is Michael's father. *growls* It's AJ witch! Sonny is the reason you are a loser and your son was shot.
- Speaking of Sonny, can someone please put a tank sized bullet in his head. I'm sick of how he treats people. And the fact that the writers treat this character as if he is what every man should aspire to be....
- Maxie and Lulu are still very much the reason to watch. I love how they work together to try and figure out Spinelli's beautiful message. It made me smile when Lulu said in a shocked voice to Maxie, "You speak Spinelli." For me that was a huge step in the right direction. It wasn't that long ago, Lulu would have claimed Maxie didn't know Spin at all and that she was merely using him. What a long road these two characters have been on.
- Lulu suggesting Nikolas's home as the site of Spinelli romance made me giggle. Could you just imagine the prince and the hacker working together to ensnare Maxie's hand in marriage? *grin* Aww that actually would be mighty sweet and a great cross action between characters.
- Jason helping Spinelli set up the romantic rooftop also made me smile. It's funny because the scene that Jason and Spin were talking about were Sam met Jason on the roof and it started raining, is one of my favorites and one I just rewatched recently. I remember thinking that that rain dance was SO Sexy.
- It's funny to me that the writers are bringing up Jasam's past through Spin when for a long time Spin was used as a way for Liason to be discussed. I guess this is the first official shift in writing. Jasam is coming back and I for one am looking forward to it. I always believe Jason and Sam had more of the same mentality and had a better connection than Liason did, but I never said that. *laughing* Liason is EXTREMELY popular.
- Spinelli's heartbreaking talk with himself about how only a fool like him could believe Maxie would truly love a "misfit like him" really showed how low he sees himself. Like Maxie can't see how smart and lovable she is, he can't see how beautiful he really is. Its moments like that, where the writers open up to his fears, that the real Spinelli shines through. He hides behind words and his intelligence. Maxie hides behind her looks and her smart mouth. They complete each other. They can be relaxed and open with each other. *sigh* I love them.
- Love the kiss at the end when he sees her standing there. The looks they shared... *le sigh* Magical. I haven't been this mushy about a couple since Coop and Ashlee. *grin*
