The Gang's all here, except for Chance

Looking over Monday's spoiler from the day ahead site I can now say for sure that Chance (John) doesn't make an appearance Monday. It looks like the magazine was wrong and the websites are right. If you would like to know some of Monday's episode I'll put it under the cut:

Here we go:

At Jimmy's, Philip's impressed that Cane remembers his regular drink. Sad about hurting so many people, Cane now realizes the life he had never existed. That's exactly how Philip felt when he left it forever.

Ready to check out of her hospital room, Kay assures the fussing Billy that she'll recuperate quicker at home. Jill's sorry she ever doubted Billy's instincts regarding Cane. He fooled the whole world, Nina reasons. When Jill proclaims herself a lousy mother, Billy disagrees - and Mac steps up to praise Philip's honesty. When Kay isn't as forgiving, Jill blames THEM for Philip hating his life to the point that he ran away.

Perched on a bar stool, Philip thought leaving his family and giving it to Cane would solve both of their problems. We were both fools, Cane decides - there's nothing good about it. Mac arrives to relay that Kay's been released. She's there to work her shift. Cane encourages Philip to go home to welcome Kay - and tell them he's gay. After telling Nina, Philip doesn't think him coming back from the dead will soften the blow for the rest of them.

Back in Kay's room, Billy doesn't get why Jill's willing to forgive all Philip's done. But Nina scolds Billy for stirring up trouble - there were mitigating circumstances. He told you something!? all want to know. Drop the territorial attitude, Billy snaps at Nina (much to Jill's delight - she's always been like this). And as a stressed out Philip waits at the estate, Nina won't reveal his secret despite Jill's insults and badgering - it's not her story to tell.
Nina arrives at the estate to inform Philip that Jill, Billy and Kay should be there any minute - and know there's more to his story. Hopefully he's going to tell them. My coming out party, Philip quips - the last thing Kay needs is more stress. Did the truth bring YOU more peace? he wonders. No - didn't think so. Jill and Kay come in bickering - let us decide what? Whether you'd like to hear why Philip's life spiraled out of control all those years ago, Nina glares at Philip.

Billy's not impressed, but obeys when Nina asks him to leave. OK - drink in hand, Jill tells Philip to go ahead - what would help us accept this? Philip can't think of anything that would make it OK. No, he wasn't injured. Then Kay can't think of anything that would excuse his behavior. After Nina nudges Philip to tell them, he finally barks out that he could never make them happy - be the man they wanted him to be. Philip Chancellor III could never possibly be gay. Gay? Jill echoes. Yup - that's why he was so miserable. Am I magically forgiven now? Phillip barks at the stunned ladies.

Jill doesn't understand - how could this be? How could he hide this? Philip reminds it was the late 80's - he was young - and trapped - by a lot of things. You had a child, Kay points out. Yes - he and Nina had sex - on a night he was drunk. The drinking was to cover the deceit? Kay assumes. Not deceit - confusion, Jill corrects. Philip wasn't confused - he knew who he was - but had to hide it. We're not bumpkins - you should have trusted us, Kay snaps. No, Philip knows they wouldn't have been alright with it. Nina questions his love for Cricket. Yes - Philip loved her - but still wanted to be with a man. No - he's never had a lover - he's ached with loneliness every day.

Kay doesn't understand why Philip didn't just move away - sending a charlatan in his place was cruel. Jill came to love Cane - and now he's dead to me. He was a son who truly wanted to be here, Philip explains. Some things never change. I'm telling you how I felt and you're telling me it's wrong. Philip didn't want to leave - he was forced to leave - he wasn't the father, son, husband they wanted. You didn't give us a chance! Jill shouts. Kay jabs at him with her fingernail - you took the coward's way out. Jill agrees - you made poor Kay think she'd given my child away - the agony that caused. Two years of happiness vs. 20 years of loss? Kay cries - you really think that's a fair trade?
Jill assures they would have understood. Kay asks how Nina feels about the revelation. She'll throw herself a pity party later - right now they have to resolve this as best they can. Philip meets the ladies expectant start - and stuns all once again by walking out the front door.
