A picnic in the office

I was fading away so I called the only person I knew would possibly be of help to me. Of course, Joe was happy to oblige, and even went to the lengths of calling me from the nearby deli to find out what kind of sandwich I wanted, and wouldn't allow me to give him any money as he dropped the bagged lunch off without a word.

I sat down in the office's carpeted floor and had myself a little picnic. The meal consisted of a grilled panini with turkey, provolone (I think), and carmelized onions, plus a little bag of the most fantastic plain potato chips I've ever had, made by Rachel's. They are thicker than a regular potato chip and made with ingredients, the names of which I can actually pronounce: "Potatoes, corn oil and/or sunflower oil, salt." Tastes as good as it is simple.

Which brings me to a point: I want to make more of my food from scratch instead of buying pre-manufactured foods with partially hydrogenated soybean oil and preservatives and other things like that. Of course, I'm not going to give up movie theater popcorn with it's plastic lego butter (though I love the independent theaters for their real butter.

Only 50 minutes to go!...
