Bored to Death

Feb 24, 2010 09:25

I'm sitting here at the Ford Motor plant here in Louisville, which is supposedly the most profitable factory under said name, and I'm utterly bored out of my mind while watching the workers here assemble these step boards (running boards) and I'm being charged with inspecting all of the racks for damages and product placement. An hour alone here feels like three when you're not doing anything of importance.

It was my GM's idea to put me into this tiresome situation with what problems had risen prior to our two-week shutdown two weeks ago. But for as long as I've been coming and going this week, I haven't attested any problems whatsoever, and the factory workers here are making it easier for me by not particularly paying too much mind to whether or not these boards are coming damaged from our warehouse.

Thus, I'll just sit here, walk about every once and a while, keep record, and pray that I'll get to return to where I truly belong--back at my workplace. Sadly, I have one more day of this shit to go.

There have been some other things, pressing matters, that have been bothering me of late, but I don't want to elaborate just yet. Not through my iPhone app, anyway. Just know that I'm still alive, doing moderately well, and will try to post more often.
