Summary: For generations, the lives of the Novaks and the Winchesters were intimately intertwined, thus ensuring the most potent of magicks through the bloodlines. So this was the case with 2 year old Castiel and baby Dean, but darkness soon cast its shadow over them, spinning their lives (and destinies) down different paths.
Spurred on by tragedy, Dean's actions start a chain reaction that will change the course of their lives, forever. But will it be enough?

Artist's Notes: This was the art piece where I could see the most fic possibilities - but, in all honesty, AUs are never at the forefront of my mind, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the idea my lovely author came up with! You have to go and read it!
Anyways, I tried to keep the additional art pieces in the theme of the original prompt image - b&w with red, and the story supplied me with the perfect imagery for it - but no spoilers! :) In any event, the art is under a cut for size!
This is the original prompt image. I still love how the sigil turned out - and wings, omg. They take such a long time! But I still like how they turned out! Also, frowny Cas. :)
This is a new style I've been experimenting with... It isn't quite in line with the prompt painting and its realism, but it was lots of fun to draw hands in that way, and I really wanted to incorporate something pairing related - this is apparently the most explicit thing I came up with. XD
I also made an attempt at drawing the ritual scene, but it didn't cooperate as well as I would have liked, so it remained stuck in a semi-sketchy state. Anyway, here it is, for the sake of completion.
