So, I know I can't dance (I mean, really, I'm 9 months pregnant), but I am so excited about the fact that they're starting up céilís again!! Please note, it really doesn't matter if you've never danced at a céilí before - they will gladly teach you. This is forwarded from my Conradh email group:
Greetings dancers!
A new season of céilí dances kicks off this Saturday evening. The dances have moved from the studio to the ArtCentre of Plano, a charming art gallery with a wooden floor located in the heart of historic downtown Plano. Nearby are shops, restaurants, and the Fillmore Pub, as well as a DART light rail stop, all within easy walking distance. The ArtCentre is located on the northwest corner of E. 15th Street and Avenue K in Plano. Check out their website
http://www.artcentreofplano.org/ for more photos, parking info, and a sample of the current exhibition.
Best of all, we get to dance again! Mimi and Allison will provide the tunes while we celebrate the joy of dancing. Bring a friend, spouse, or neighbor -- you can even BYOB if you like. (Just beer and wine please.) Don't be shy; most dances are taught, and new dancers are always welcome. The particulars are:
