George is 5 today!
It's Georgie's birthday today! My little girl is growing up. :) Right now she is sitting beside the tv watching an encore of the Djokovic-Federer match from yesterday, while we wait for the final to start. George is also a tennis fan. I raised her right. *g*
It's a basket of George!
I don't remember if I posted any of these next photos after George got past her scary, scary trauma last October. Her vet told her to take it easy for a week, and she did. For exactly one week. Then she promptly got up on top of the kitchen cabinets and couldn't get back down again. She had jumped up on the counter and from there to the top of the fridge and then up on the cabinets. The problem is that there's a section of wall above the sink that protudes and leaves only a couple of inches for her to walk on. Going over to the other side was easy. She has an outside leg for balance. Coming back -- no outside leg. She was afraid to attempt the return trip.
I climbed a step ladder to grab her, but she, as always, was an independent little miss and decided she was going to get down her way or no way. She kept scurrying just out of my reach, back into the corner.
When it looked like she was going to slide down the front of the cupboards I was afraid she would hurt herself on the handles, so I got that blue Rubbermaid container with the lid and placed it below where she was hanging out. Then I left the kitchen knowing George is a smart girl and would figure out that it was there for her to land on.
Success! The George has landed! I grabbed her and set her on the floor. She hasn't been back "upstairs" since. Told you she's smart!
