So since I can't find the answer to these anywhere else . . .
I just had a couple of questions about blocking that I can’t find answers to elsewhere:
When doing a gauge swatch for something that has to be blocked, do you have to block the gauge swatch?
Do you have to re-block something every time you wash it?
Any advice would be helpful too. :) I've never blocked before and I have a pair of socks that I'm planning to make from yarn that isn't machine washable (my favored blocking technique for socks is to throw machine washable yarn in the washer and dryer). So I figured I'd look for the answers to these before buying and knitting the beautiful shawl pattern from Knit Picks I've been drooling over. I've got instruction on the methods by which to block, but I can't find the answers to these questions for the life of me.
