(no subject)
Today was a pretty cool day.
Things:
A patron today told me that he didn't believe that the Egyptians built the pyramids because, in his words "I seen what they built and they can't build anything like that." and added "and the incans too". He went on to explain that he thinks another civilization built them. Before we could suggest "ALIENS???" we'd kind of lost our chance because we were busy. Oh well. I had all these suggestions like "Xenu? Richard Alpert??? BENRY????" . It was kind of funny in a hey that guy is a little racist way.
My screen printing teacher is really cool and said he thought that I'm a natural, and that he doesn't see this level of skill very often. It was really cool, because i'm really trying hard in this class, and it's so much fun. It's also a nice merge between my drawing skills, computer skills, and ability to endure listening to a powerwasher nonstop for 5 hours (that night actually kind of sucked). It just makes me wish i'd discovered the Print Making classes earlier, becuase it's pretty much my last term now.
I got an award today without knowing it. I got another student employee of the year award! This time I got it for my job at the Circulation department. Last year I got it from CET. Apparently it happened today but nobody told me they were giving me one and so I wasn't there. I guess there was cake. :( .
And then a book that i've been needing since the beginning of the term finally showed up, week 8. I guess I can study for the final now, at least.
And then I watched lots of The Office and spent a lot of the day with Jeff, so it was kind of awesome all around.
Less Awesome Thing:
I tried to give somebody the awesome idea of drawing a velociraptor in a victorian era hat, but was rejected. Oh well, their loss.
