After 49-years of leadership of Cuba, Castro steps down... I never thought I'd see the day. I always thought he'd live forever. Haha

Apparently, at 7:45 this morning someone had a medical emergency while driving and plowed into a line of cars stopped at a red light on the corner of Swan and Speedway. So, this weekend, I had the chance to be a grader in S. Arizona's 25th MathCounts competition and they had a photographer from the AZ Daily Star there. I REALLY prefer the Tucson Citizen to the "Red Star" (as I lovingly refer to the Star). This morning an old family friend, Art Hollister, died. His funeral is Friday. I only have 10 hours of PTO, but I'll probably dip into that and take the day off to drive back down to Sierra Vista for the service. Art was a really cool guy. It's only a matter of time before a cure for the HIV is found. Strangely, the key to beating HIV is also an immunity found in survivors of Black Death. These survivors have a gene that prevents the virus from bonding to white blood cells.
