I haven't written in a while because I've been too busy living life to document it.
2009 started off a bit wobbly for the nation. The USA is in "survival" mode as the economy seems to be crumbling - hopefully we aren't going to see a worse depression than the "Great Depression". There are so many companies filing for bankruptcy and/or laying off employees on a daily basis that those who have a job should feel very fortunate right now. The current unemployment percentage is around 8% with over 500,000 jobs eliminated within the first two months of the year - needless to say, the end isn't in sight yet. On the other hand, for those who are doing very well for themselves in these uncertain times, there are just so many amazing deals offered by sellers that it's hard NOT to buy things! President Obama and his administration definitely has a lot on their plates to fix the state of the union.
Work and school have been absolutely exhausting - the cold weather doesn't help to improve my moods either. Weekdays are so jammed packed that I have resorted to concentrating intensely on the task at hand, checking it off, and then mentally shoving it aside so that I can move on to the next thing. I hate being busy almost every waking second of my day but my Type A personality has the need to feel productive - gosh darn it. It's so easy to be off-balanced once every thing requires almost the same amount of time and attention. On the other hand, my weekends are always so wonderful as I spend time with people I love and care about; it's so great that my friends & fam are calm, vibrant and fun. They definitely keep me grounded and sane.
I need a vacation. Oy.
