I had a good Christmas--there was drama and stuff, but overall it came out good. I finally got my sister's gift done, a portrait doll of her. It came out better than I thought it would.
I finally figured out how to do transparent washes on vinyl to do makeup and skin tones. I was delayed greatly by the fact that I couldn't find my good brush. I went to the store as soon as they were open and got several tiny brushes and one worked well enough to use. The store went from carrying expensive high-end brushes to crap varieties I had never heard of. I guess I'll have to buy online now or something.
I showed Mom and Grandma a sneak peek of the finished doll I made of my sister. Mom gasped, "OHHHHHHHH Julie! Ohhhhhhh! It's exquisite!" :) I think she liked it better than my sister. She wanted me to give that as that first present, cause she couldn't wait for her to see it.
The parents' seemed to like their microwave. That was the gift my sister and I collaborated on. That was a big hassle to get down the stairs--my knee was sore as heck cause I pulled something in it a couple days before Christmas. We still haven't figured out how to get the old microwave off the brackets to install the new.
I feel like I have pneumonia now. I could barely get any air into my left lung before Christmas, and it sure hasn't gotten any better. Ah life with COPD. I keep sleeping like crazy. I slept so much after work I am up now when I should be asleep.
I really want to watch Vampire Hunter D again after I got the manga adaption for Christmas. Finding it though, that's another story. I have nowhere near enough shelves, so books and dvds are stacked three deep.
My mom's cousin has apparently married someone who used to work on movies. She worked on Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, and Reservoir Dogs. I'd love to talk to her! I almost never see that side of the family.
