Farmer's Market - September

Oct 18, 2009 16:02

So here's some photos from the Farmer's Market in September when the 4-H kids brought their animals. Mom decided not to come, then 2.5 hours later called me and said she was coming after all. So we got there late, but right as they were unloading the horses, so just in time in my eyes. Though Mom was more concerned with parking than avoiding small children with miniature horses and dogs in the parking lot, so we got into a spat cause I kept yelling at her to watch out.

They had guinea pigs there too that were absolutely adorable, but I didn't get any shots of them. The kids were picking them up and cuddling them and I was like, "What? You can hold them! I thought you just fed them and they bit you."

So now I really want a guinea pig.

The Clydesdale mare was 18.1 hands. She was huge! And she was pregnant. She stood really quietly, but she was watching everything that went on very attentively. She really checked me out when I went to pat her, I wonder if she could smell horse on me?

The great dane was bigger than this miniature horse:

I bought some strawberry lemonade that had a slice of strawberry in it prettily, and I can tell you it was not sweetened at all. XP I also got a raspberry lemon shortbread bar that was FANTASTIC. Mom and I went to the car wash for quarters for me to wash clothes, and then to the New Age hippie store where she bought the incense o' doom, and I got a book on Zuni pottery that was on sale for a dollar.

That place had a "crystal room" which had crystals of all sizes and colors, from tiny to coffee-table sized. They had signs in there that your cell phone might not work in there, so I had to try mine.

They had a sign that they did Reikei, and Mom started mocking it even though she doesn't know what it is. *face palm* She left before me and on the way out she cut her hand on the door so bad it was dripping blood all the way to the car.

I half fell down the stairs when I left and just barely caught myself before sprawling on the sidewalk. I felt like I had been pushed. My bad knees protested this abuse greatly and I gimped slowly and weirdly to the car. Even Mom said that the place had bad vibes.

The owners are getting divorced-I think that would do it. She prolly shouldn't have mocked Reiki in front of the resident reikei girl and psychic either.

Anyway, we found Mom some bandaids and decided to go see the little house I tried to buy and the lake. Those photos are awesome but will be in another post.
