Votez-vous?

I voted today. And it felt good. :) You see, I'm home for fall break (until tomorrow, blah.) and I didn't feel like having to come home from Lexington on Election Day. For some reason, we have classes on Election day and it would have made it really hard for me to make the 35/40/45 minute drive and back. Instead, I went to the courthouse today to pick up an absentee ballot. When I went there, they had a little voting booth set up for early voting. So I got to vote normally, just early! :D I'm not sure I will directly tell you who I voted for, but I will tell you one thing--if you're of age to vote, you better vote for Kerry! ;)

So yes, I feel slightly grown-up now. For once, my opinion slightly matters to the government enough to where they would let me (kind of) decide who will be president. Oh, yeah. It felt cool pressing the "VOTE" button. So yes. I was happy to get to vote. I watched most of the last debate, and it really helped my set in concrete who I was going to vote for. There was no way I wanted Mr. Bush to continue his reign. As far as I'm concerned, his "No Child Left Behind" nonsense has gone far enough. It's about time that the useless tax cuts be stopped and federally funded programs that actually benefit the children be brought back. Enough of political stuff. I usually don't care that much, but when the fate of a country is at hand, I think it's important.

I go back to school tomorrow. I really don't want to. I've had such a nice time here at home. The only homework I did was a little bit earlier tonight. I just relaxed the whole time, met up with some friends, and just enjoyed being home in my own bed at night. Sleeping in the dorm room tomorrow night is going to be hard. I'm already dreading it, and just thinking about it makes me want to cry. But I refuse for the nonsense to continue. I should not have to ask my roommate to turn his music down when I am trying to go to sleep. I refuse to have to listen to crap playing in the background while I'm in bed. I REFUSE, I REFUSE, I REFUSE. I'm paying for that room as much as he is, and therefore I have the right to sleep in peace. If he can't respect that, then he is mindless and insanely inconsiderate. Both of which I have already suspected. It's my room, too, and I'm sick of letting him walk all over me.

Hmm, I'm trying to think of how to end this on a happy note. OH! I get to go to a concert on Thursday night (FOR ONLY 5 DOLLARS!), and Barlow Girl will be performing! :) They are my favorite Christian group! I've seen them in concert before and they are awesome. Aaah. Can't wait. THEN! On Saturday, Ann Marie and I are going to go see Miss Saigon! I am so excited! :D I CAN'T WAIT! I'm happy that I have something to look forward to this week! It always makes the days go by faster. OH! And Brock is supposed to be home by now, and I'm hoping I'll get to catch up with him before I leave. And Holly is supposed to eat lunch with me on Wednesday, I think! So this week should be good, despite school and stuff! :) At any rate, I hope everyone has a good week! I'm going to go to bed, and enjoy my last night home!

<3 Luke
