I was being really lazy this morning, thoroughly enjoying my day off, when I realized the whole hour or so I was watching tv I was being bombarded with back to school commercials. It made me realize how much I miss going back to school and having things to work on. I only got done in December so it feels I should be heading back to class anyway, and I really need a project.
I've been teaching nicole to cook, like last week I showed her how to make a really good cream sauce for pasta, and it was so much fun. She seems to really be into it and I love cooking so much I love being able to share that with someone. We ended up coming up with this really good garlic sun-dried tomato sauce and MMMM. I have to tweak the recipe a bit but it wasn't bad for a first attempt at it. Anyway, since I'm helping her out with cooking, she's going to teach me more about paints. I do charcoal, and I have a blast with it but after so many black and white pieces you kind of yearn for color. I was looking at the wall behind the tv during one of the commercial breaks this morning and realized that the wall's pretty blank. I don't want one of my charcoal pieces up there because it'd blend in too much, but a huge acrylic piece would be awesome. So, for now, that's the project. I'll work with nicole to come up with our own homemade pasta and sauce dinner noodles and all, and she'll help me make a huge acrylic piece for the living room.
Growing up makes for much more interesting hang time.
