kerri, let's try and think glass half full about this summer (i've had to do it because my summer hasn't been the sweetest either):

-you might not have achieved that killer tan just yet... but you will ALWAYS be tanner than me. :P
-you have lost some weight. it might not have been the amount that you wanted, but you are now 7 pounds closer to your goal than you were at the beginning of this summer.
-no car just yet, but you will have some money saved when you do have to pay for a car

this summer isn't over yet. hopefully the best is yet to come. :)
