So yesterday I come home from lunch... and I don't know if I had mentioned it, but I'm allergic to Citric Acid. (Found this out at Walla Walla when I started getting my eyes swollen shut and my throat swollen closed... tried to cut it out of my diet and it's in everything, so I wasn't able to eat much... finally gave up and am now controlling it with meds. :) So anyway... came home yesterday from lunch, and I guess I hadn't taken my medication and I had a little blotchiness starting to show around my mouth. Of course, Tom immediately accused me of making out with someone. I said, "No... but I could..." His response was, "Sorry, I don't have time before work." Of course, my immediate response: "Who said it was going to be you??" I really need to work on this whole "sweet" thing... of course, I think being sweet is just not me and I get really irritible if I have to pretend it is or act really sweet for too long at a time. (Good thing my work knows me well enough to expect jokes and insults from me.)
Of course, I did slip yesterday and give an insult that was too wrong even for me... It was a complete accident, but Kaylynn has been trying to get me to join her gym so we can work out together. Well, I am on this new medication... (a long story I will have to go into some other time) - so I told her I would like to try the free week pass when I have had a chance to get used to the new meds. Then we started talking about taking water aerobics classes... her concern was being seen in a bathing suit because she is a little overweight. My attempt at comforting her? "Well, don't worry, Kaylynn, a lot of the women taking those classes are overweight..." I should have stopped there. But no, I want on to say, "And even older than you!" Fortunately, she has a great sense of humor. She almost died laughing. I take that as a sign that she knows I did not mean it like that. Of course, I also reiterated that a million times, so I hope she knows. :)
