Yesterday I was sitting at my desk at work, minding my own business, when the phone rang. As KayLynn was with a customer, I answered it. It was Charlene from the Rhythmettes. Now for those of you who don't know, the Rhythmettes is an all-girl dance/gymnastics group at the local public high school. Our business has sponsored them for years. Well, apparently there was some confusion about the check that the doctor had sent this year, so Charlene asked to speak with him. As he was done seeing patients for the day, I asked if he could take the call. Keep in mind his desk sits directly behind mine, so I can hear every word that he's saying. The first part of the call was pretty routine... he was asking what was wrong and then clearing up the little check problem... then they got to chit-chatting about the Rhythmettes and how good they are for the community. This is when I heard the following:
"Well, I am sure the the Rhythmettes helps to keep a lot of girls out of trouble. I know it sure helped me when I was younger." Slight pause... "SPORTS... I mean SPORTS, NOT the Rhythmettes, helped me when I was younger!"
I couldn't help it... I busted up laughing. He hung up the phone and I said, "I'm sorry... I can't help it... that's just too funny..." Fortunately for me he is very good-natured and laughing about it himself... however, I couldn't stop laughing! And there comes a point when even the most gracious guy gets upset at being laughed at... so I had to excuse myself and go to the little girls room. Where I think I must have busted something because I laughed SO hard for about 3 minutes!!!
