Today's Writing Effort
Happy Yule. Whatever melancholy gripped me yesterday is mostly gone. No tears today. Thank the Gods.
I did most of my morning chores before AJ, Kody, and Ethan arrived, except animal chores. James helped with animal chores. Then we opened gifts and chatted and hung out. We had biscuits and gravy, and it was a good time.
Around 2:00pm, AJ, Kody, and Ethan left, and I got the fire going because James was done working out in the gym.
A couple of hours later, we packed up the car with the rest of the gifts and went to Christy Ann's house for dinner with her and Ben. Bastion came over. Ethan was supposed to, but I imagine that he was still asleep since he was looking pretty haggard when he was at our house. He's been working too much.
We had gift exchange before dinner because the meat was still cooking. Sappho was the center of attention, and she loved it. Bastion had to leave for work after about an hour, but he got presents and food, and he got to see folks, so that's good. And he may come over to our house tomorrow to see AJ for his birthday. Ben might come over too. He was invited at least.
On our way home, we stopped at Mariah's and dropped off presents for the Lara clan. We took home a few too. When we got home, I re-ignited the fire and did the evening watering. I started Jenny's laundry and when it was done, I put it in the dryer and put Thumper's dirty towels in the wash. Then more of Jenny's laundry. I did three loads of laundry tonight after getting home from festivities. Whew!
James and I had a bit of time to hang out before we had to go to bed. I showed him this funny video (Santa Baby, But It's About D&D) and he laughed.
Even the cats and dogs had a good Yule. Yuno, Venus, and Apollo all got extra treats, catnip, and new toys. Theodore and Kore got new toys too and they seem happy all around.
I chatted, via text, with priapussy, Justin, and my brother, Cory. It was good to hear from all of them. Cory, Spencer, and Evelyn are doing presents on Friday when she comes to stay with the brothers.
