Today's Writing Effort I fed the cats and went back to bed and then when I got up to take care of the bunnies and chickens, I discovered that the power was out and we had 1-2 inches of snow. I thought that we were done with snow, but apparently snow wasn't done with us. *Le Sigh*
But after I was done with the bunnies and chickens, I went to cuddle with
maxheadwidth some more and we had some Adult Fun Playtime that was super hot.
James and Justin had to chainsaw a tree that had fallen across the road before James could go into town today. That was an unfortunate delay. And he decided to buy a portable generator for some key things, like the chest freezers, in case the power ever goes out again. I just shoveled the walk so that people wouldn't have to walk too much in what was quickly becoming a soupy mess.
So, I called in the outage and did some reading today since there really wasn't a lot I could do. I couldn't do laundry or surf the internet or anything like that. But in the early afternoon, the power came back on and so did the internet and all was right with the world. I got done three loads of laundry and a load of dishes and put the last of the meat from the meat freezer into the general freezer. I went up to the barn to check on the books to make sure they weren't getting damp with all the precipitation we've been having lately. They're fine.
I talked to Justin (the Contractor) and he said that he just needs to start laying down the sub-flooring and the flooring and then it's just some odds and ends and the job will be done, or at least his part. We still have to get the blinds done and the shelves and the wallpaper, but that will be a lot easier than the flooring I think.
James brought Bastion home in the afternoon and he spent most of the day hermiting away.
I got a text from Josh P. saying that the car would be put together tomorrow and I am hopeful that I will have it back soon.
I had some lovely texts with
oldfellowbunyip today and getting the car back would mean that I get to come and see him more regularly than has been the case the last few weeks.
EDIT:
I went to bed up in James' room before he did, but not by too much, which is a change from how it normally is. He's usually in bed before I am.
