This is a fascinating world you've built, and I'm glad to see that you're writing more in the verse. I'm very curious to see what will happen now that Dean has decided to become a part of the world again, and what changes will come now that Sam is corporeal again.
Ahh the details of Sam's substance are going to be fun again. Since based on the notes that never made it into this story, Sam's can manipulate the world but he can't actually feel it. And because Dean gave him that substance, Sam can't exert that ability on him. (i.e. he can touch anything and everything except Dean).
And I am working on the next part for spn_j2_bigbang this year. So fingers crossed it gets finished on time :)
I love your worldbuilding. The way being a Hunter is a religious Calling even though actually hunting is looked down on. It explains why someone can intellectualize the necessity of opening a Devil's Gate to capture a demon because they would likely never have faced one, never seen what they can do.
And what happened to Sam! Not exactly what Dean was hoping for.
I'm glad you're writing more. I can't wait to read it. =]
Making Hunting into a religious calling was the best part about writing this story. I'd always wondered what would happen if the Church and other world religious ever openly acknowledged the supernatural world. And having it be looked down upon was an added idea I got from a story I had read called The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen.
And I am working on having the next part written for the spn_j2_bigbang this year. So fingers crossed it should be out this summer! :D
Thank you! And I agree, the show could do with a Cain character just for spice! And I am continuing it, trying to work out the details so I can write it for spn_j2_bigbang this year :)
This is absolutely stunning! I'm enamored with your vision of the apocalypse, and I just love seeing Dean thrust into this messianic role. To be honest it's everything I've been looking for in a fic for a long time. Thank you for writing it, it's been an absolute joy to read.
Thank you! I am glad that this version of the End World worked out so well. It was a bitch to get out in details through Dean's POV since he is so disinterested in the world. And Dean in a messianic role was always something that fascinated me because he seemed to gravitate to it so naturally in the early seasons and then sort of balked at the idea when the idea became more real than he could handle.
