Practice 5K - #1

I grabbed a watch and set the iPod for 5K workout. Since it's an "off" day from the podcasts, I thought I'd give it a shot.

The plan was to run 2 minutes and walk 1 minute. What is it about 42 seconds????? I would start running and then start praying for the end only to look at my watch and find 42 seconds had gone by. What the h***?? Who gives up at 42 seconds? That's not even halfway! So I'd push through.

It was warm -- I need some running shorts. I've promised myself a running skirt when I lose 10lbs. That may change to a running skirt for the 5K in June.

Toward the end it ended up more like run 45 seconds, walk 15, run 45 seconds, walk 75 seconds.

But -- I did it! I completed my first 5K run!

Here are the stats: 37:51 time, 12:05 pace, and 454 calories.

I can do this. That time can only get better. June 21st -- here I come!
