Personal best...

Well I for one can hardly believe what I've achieved in this past year at archery... Last week I managed to get my sight marks for 80 yards and yesterday I decided after a little fiddling with my center shot to attempt a scoring round at 80 yards and 60 yards (a Long National). So MrO and I started out he'd had a few ends of sighters at 80 yards, but I hadn't thought much of my chances of shooting that well and just went for it and said as long as most of my arrows hit the target we might as well start scoring. After 2 Doz arrows I was well in the lead much to his irritation, this forced him to up the anti and he caught me up in no time - from that point on it was head to head all the way! The round ended with me scoring a PB, beating MrO by 2 points and with my gaining my first ever 1st Class level score! :)

Our son also shot a PB, gaining not only a 4th Junior Bowman level score, but setting a club record in the process! I'm so utterly proud of him, not only can he shoot like this but he played really, really well in his last home game of this Ice Hockey season on Saturday. He's also done all his homework for the week and got a certificate in Assembly for a poem he wrote last week about a snake. I feel so blessed to have a son like him, he's a great all rounder and such a good and thoughtful kid at heart. Knowing I was exhausted and painful after sitting at the rink on Saturday he came home and while I cooked dinner, he not only showered but he cleaned his room up! He said it was partly to say thank you for my treating him to a new quiver (bigger, better and far more grown-up) on Friday - his present for all the effort his put in at archery and for achieving his Junior Bowman.

Other than that I've done what I could, but have had a lot of muscle and back pain in the evenings this past week. Yesterday night was especially bad, but having medicated and slept some what I'm doing ok today - though more tired than I'd like physically...

Now all I have to do is catch up with the laundry and do the pile of washing up that's in the sink waiting for me...
