Random update
Watched Avatar on Friday night. Many things have been said about it, and I agree that it isn't the best movie in existence, but I really enjoyed it, when I wasn't busy internally yelling at the clumsy dialogue and cringing at the overdone stereotyped characters and concepts. I will watch it again. Why? Because it was bloody enjoyable (and I want to see the weightless scene again). :) It wasn't subtle, it was simple and overstating concepts that most of us don't need assistance to get, but if you can put those problems to one side and just enjoy the ride, you'll likely leave the room with a smile on your face.
Watched In Bruges this afternoon. Nicely done, much in the way of thematic dialogue, with interestingly flawed characters. Finished watching The West Wing, well, got to the end of series 5, so pretty much done with the whole thing, tried a couple of later episodes but not so good..
Done 3 weeks in the new job. Many alcoholics that smell of wee. One of them tried to hug and kiss me on Friday. Cue both arms out and the word no, firmly spoken. He reacted quite well to being shoved out of my office... Glad this is only a temp assignment. Not sure when it finishes, before the end of Jan for sure. Are we nearing the end of the recession yet?
The van has passed what will likely be its final MOT, taking nearly £500 to do so. The van still hasn't been fixed properly but that is more down to laziness than insurers incompetence.
