I've been down here for over a month now, and I just now feel like I'm settled in. I had a little trouble to start with at the apartment complex that the company was paying for. Now I'm out of there. I'm living in a hotel room at the moment with Adam, the coworker that truly inspired me to be down here in the first place. I'm not so into work anymore, but I'm going to see what I can do over the next couple of days while the big boss Bob is in town to try to get a salaried position that better reflect the time I spent in college and my aspirations in life. Sales is a tough occupation, and it wears me out. Not to mention, I get tired of what seems to me to be bad tours affecting the way that management views my performance since everything is numbers based.
I got to actually explore Biloxi a little more today than I had the whole rest of the time that I've been down here, and I got to actually play in the Gulf for the first time down here. It was 71 today, thank goodness. I've been waiting for it to warm up. Last weekend I went with Adam up to Monroe, LA, his home town. It was an interesting learning experience of a trip, but I feel like we're a lot closer because of it. Sometimes the best way to build a friendship with someone is for the two people involved to drive each other crazy enough that they both finally tell each other how they really feel. I'm pretty happy with the way things are going, but money is really tight. Things should work out by Friday, and I'll keep everybody filled in on the details as they come. Off to bed; we're supposed to go running in the morning.
