Driving school was today. boooring.
ok, so I started taking survey on 2004. but it was crap, so I'm gonna take a minute right hurr and reflect on some things that happened in 2004 that were important to me.
In order of chronology (despite overlap)
TOP 10 THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME IN 2004
1. Baseball: I never thought I'd play baseball again heading into highschool, but it happened, and it was so awesome, I can't wait until this spring.
2. Prom: That was sweet.
3. Dating: Also fun (at times), but, ya know, things happen and stuff. It was a good few monthes.
4. Russia: Russia was so awesome, i loved goin there and seeing all the kids and meeting people and talking Russian. Maybe I can go back in 2005
5. Summer School: Ah... summer school, that was awesome, cruising along with a GPA a point and a half past everyone else. Mr. Barrett was cool, watching Jurassic Park in class was cool, teaching the class was cool.
6. Working for Mrs. Sollog: I worked at this old house, cleaning the attic, mowing the monster lawn in the stifling heat. Hours behind the hot mower gave me time to really think about life, Russia, girls, and the military. This is when I decided I would do ROTC.
7. California: Went to CA on vacation. Nice place, wouldnt wanna live there. A LOT of wranglers, it might really not be above the amount here, but i guess thats what was on my mind and i noticed them more.
8. The Bakery: Once I was back in school I drove nathan to work at the bakery, and sometimes i would stay and help. Then, gradually, I would always stay and help. It was fun though.
9. Turning 18: totally cool, look back on the entry.
10. Accident: the only bad thing that made the top 10 list. Maybe the most relevant, I hope not though.
Those things were all good, pretty much. 2004 was a good year. I would do it all again if I could, except I might've taken more risk in some places and less in others. Either way, 2004, I Salute You.
AND
MY TOP 10 HOPES FOR 2005
1. Leaving I really hope that I leave Governor's School satisfied. I don't wanna feel like I missed out on anything while I was here, so I plan on making the best of 2nd semester.
2. College. Get into college. That's definately top of the to do list. I can't really go beyond that detail, cause its clogging the view like a tractor trailer on the highway.
3. ROTC This is something I think I'll really like, looking forward to it.
4. Baseball Last season with the baseball boys. If you read this and don't go to a game, go to hell.
5. Dating? Many of my friends have sent out a spiritual plea for a second half in 2005. I like to think I'm not that desperate, but really, in 2005, if I date or not, I want to be satisfied with it. I hope my mindset is "I'm happy with my relationship status" no matter what it is (unless its gay)
6. Kicking Ass This may be the most important think in 05. To kick even more ass in 2005 than I have before. I suggest all yous other guys take this up as a goal too.
7. Car I know, I know. It's so cliche. It's so predictable. It's so impossible. and it's so spoiled brat "i deserve [blah]!". I don't wanna be a whiney baby. I don't want to be what we used to call a 'salisbury kid'. I understand that if I can't afford $100/month for gas, $100/month for insurance, $500/year for maintainance, $400/semester for parking, and $5000-$10000 for the car itself, then I don't have the means to get a car. All this stuff aside though... I...miss...driving. :(
8. Records I wanna start listening to Vinyl. Tell me if you want to sell me a record player.
9. Movies I hope to get moving on the movie making business. I really appreciate everyone that's offered to help me so far with my silly goat documentary. I spent about 2-3 hours yesterday just collecting ideas and stuff. (if anyone has bus pictures, 271 or 303, from freshman year, it would be awesome if you could get them to me). I really gotta get moving on this silly movie though cause it needs to be done by May.
10. Materialism This is probably the closest I'll ever get to a New Year's Resolution. I really want to be less materialistic than I have been lately. I'm always thinking about stuff, cars, dvds, white dress shoes... I wish I didn't care so much about getting new stuff. The ironic part of this is that it's probably, subconciously, so that I'll be less tempted to spend money, ever.
So there it is, hoes. 2004 in a bulletshell. Leave a comment about some common goal you have for 2005, or a cool memory of 2004. Think of "What Would Jesus Do?". The answer is that Jesus, if he was on the internet and read my journal entry, he would comment on it, and probably repremand me for using the word 'hoes' so casually, and say something about his goals for 2005 that weren't classified.
