Okay. I cannot decide if I am just being irrationally grumpy cow about this (it IS possible) but my current fandom is driving me a little nuts ( Read more... )

I found some areas of Sanctuary fandom are like that - which is why I dropped all the comms from my f-list. It's just the fact that some of the fans there don't seem to get the whole, "YES IMAGES DO EQUAL SPOILERS!"

I wonder if it's a kind of 'young' fandom thing. I don't know, my only previous experience was in SG-1 fandom which I came into about season 6 and then SGA fandom which as lots of us migrated from SG-1 kinda already knew the etiquette.

Plus I am also spoiler bitch queen in that I actually just remove anyone on the f-list who spoils me from the filters I read and don't even bother to tell them. I have a zero tolerance policy.

Yeah, but given the fact that a large swathe of Sanctuary's fandom came from Stargate fandom, I don't think the whole 'young' fandom excuse works. That and the etiquette has certainly been around long enough now for even n00bs to be jumped on and have it forced into their brain.

I think some members of fandom just exist to be assholes.

Ooooh am I being the nice forgiving fandom bod? That makes a change! ;)

I think this fandom needs rules. And maybe a grumpy fandom bitch.

You probably are - I can handle being spoilt for every other show I watch. But being spoiled for Sanctuary really pisses me off; pisses me off like if someone telling me the score of a Yankees game I plan to watch later.
