While walking down the steps to the El station today, I slipped and fell on my ass. I hurt my arm pretty bad and my lower back is pretty sore. I felt like an old woman. My first instinct was to cry because it hurt really bad, but I was in public and would've been extremely embarassed. I also wanted to just go home and lie down, since I was in pain, but I knew it wasn't so bad that I had to miss a day of work. So instead I toughed it out. It's crazy how totally helpless you can be sometimes totally out of nowhere.
