And so it goes

It's been awhile. I've been neglecting the updating of my journal only because I had no clue what to write. This past weekend was spent lounging around the house. Amanda and I partied with the upstairs neighbors' brother and sister on Friday. That was interesting. Apparently the sister is bi. She kept hugging me and kissing me on my neck. For a little clarification, the sister is dating the brother. Two separate families so don't worry, no incest. But she was doing this right in front of her boyfriend, which really made me uncomfortable. Needless to say, I opted to go to bed instead of being propositioned by her. I layed low the rest of the weekend, spending most of it reading or sleeping.

The weekend before that was spent driving around the midwest. Friday Amanda and I left Chicago to go to Milwaukee. We picked Natasha up on the way and went to dinner at Friday's. We then checked into our hotel and headed out to the Pint. Most of my friends came out to see us, which was awesome. We then returned to the hotel and got up the next morning to have breakfast at Chuck's in Thiensville. Angie met us out there and had breakfast with us. We then stopped by my parents' house to see them. Then we headed down to St Louis in seach of the Todd. We checked into our hotel in Cahokia and met up with one of Amanda's friends, Sheila. We ventured into St Louis and caught the show at Off Broadway. It was awesome. We made a spectacle of ourselves, being the only true Katie Todd Band fans to show up. We then partied with the band on Gus after the show. It was quite an experience. Thankfully I got us back to the hotel in one piece and we all passed out. For some reason it took us quite awhile to make it back to Chicago. Natasha ended up spending the night down here on Sunday and rode with me to the train station in the morning. I could tell things were off between us. Never will I send a girl flowers again. Apparently she took a step back and realized that she was making a mistake because she can't give me 100% and that's what I deserve. So yeah, back to friends we go. What a vicious circle.

That's what prompted me to lay low this past weekend. I don't know how to downshift that fast. I still have feelings for her, yet I can't act on my impulses. So I chose not to put myself into a situation where I would be tempted. She spent most of the day Sunday here with Amanda and I. We talked some and she said that despite her feelings for me she just can't do it right now. But she also doesn't want me to hold anything back. So I'm a bit torn. I think it's time to just close that door again. Perhaps close it and place a lock on it. There's no need to torment myself with hopes and aspirations.

This coming weekend is going to be really fun. The Nanny has a friend coming into town from California. She's going to drive out here after work on Friday and I'm going to take her to O'Hare to pick up her friend Kelly. Then The Nanny, Kelly, Amanda, possibly Kellye and I are going to spend Friday night at T's in Chicago. They're all going to crash here for the night and we're going to get up and go to the Museum of Science and Industry on Saturday. Then we're going to drive up to Milwaukee Friday night and party at the Pint. Lauren might come up with Courtney and Kelli (dreads) might even come out.

Yes, I've talked to Kelli. I think we may even be able to salvage a friendship out of everything. I've definitely missed talking to her. She's doing really well, too. She's met a great girl in Florida who has a little boy. Kelli's been helping her dad start up a media company down there. So she's been splitting her time between there and Milwaukee. She's also gotten accepted to an awesome school down there. Apparenlty she couldn't get a student visa to get into Canada to attend VFS so she applied at some other schools. The school she got accepted to is in the top 5 in it's class. I'm just really glad things are looking up for her.

Other than that, not much has been going on. Work is still going well. Getting up in the morning isn't getting any easier, but I suppose if I went to bed earlier it wouldn't be so bad. So yeah, that's where I stand.
