I know, I know, 2010's not actually over yet. But I'm going to be either working incessantly or out of town for the remainder of 2010, and then the new year will bring with it the stress of an impending move before I've even fully recovered from December, so I'm doing this now. Besides, it's unlikely that I'll find time to write more than a drabble

I'm sorry you're stalling with Some Things You Lose. I'm enjoying it because I love the concept, but the transition between the two stories did seem a bit jarring--it almost felt like two different (although both very good!) stories. I would be interested to see what you had planned for the second story, but I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work even without that. Don't beat yourself up about it. It's still very awesome.
Honestly, I'm thrilled that we've gotten as much LFN fic out of you as we have! I remember you said in the preface to Thought But Never Said that you didn't think you'd be writing more. So I was really thrilled when you wrote not only one more TR fic, but series and crossovers and drabbles and all sorts of other goodies! Thank you for all the great fic you've written this year. ;)

I honestly think I have you, jaybee65, clueless_02, daybreak777 and a few others to blame to thank for my continued LFN obsession. Lol. When I wrote TBNS, I had peeked around fandom, decided that there was a good chance no one at all would read my fic, and half-wondered why I was bothering--but I can't not write stories, my brain just comes up with them, and it seemed silly to have a story in my head and not at least write it down, and then even sillier to have it written down and never actually show it to anyone besides my roommate. So I posted, and then all of you lovely people not only read it and liked it, but were sweet and encouraging and awesome, and the muse took all that encouragement as license to keep playing with LFN long past the point where I figured I'd stop. Lol. Not that I'm complaining, mind you--there's something absolutely wonderful about being in a smallish, but still active (in a way) fandom, you know?

I'm kind of toying with the idea of, instead of writing a full, plotty second story to fit between Off-Label Uses and Some Things, instead writing a handful of vignettes connecting the dots from point A to point B. The key important moments, without necessarily the boring in-between moments that would tie them all together in a fully formed fic. That way people get an idea of what went down, and not all of it has to be explained in Some Things, but I don't have to figure out a way to write yet another 15+ chaptered fic this year. Or does that just sound lazy/really lame? *ponders*

I like the idea of a couple of vignettes! You shouldn't push yourself to do anything you don't want to do; there's nothing worse than trying to write something when you don't want to write it.

It's interesting to hear that fandom was mostly HR, since by the time I got here, nearly everything was TR. Maybe I'm happier being late to the party...? :D
